Re: D4 R15 #8 Coshocton @ #1 Ironton

#33 was a stud last year when we played them. i remember him well. very active on both sides of the ball. this was worst draw for us by far imho. would much rather have had alexander or highland. this game will be won the same place last years game was won, the line of scrimmage. i am hoping the tig...

Re: Plain City Jonathon Alder (4-1) @ Ironton (5-0)

well, i agree its pretty much a no brainer we got handled. alter is extremely good. their o-line took it to us all night. i am one of the people on here who agree the officiating was just not good. i didnt see the play that got wilks thrown out of the game but i highly doubt that an official makes t...

Re: WEEK 5 Gallia Academy (4-0) @ Ironton (4-0)

great game by the tigers tonite. it appears that we are beginning to hit on all cylinders. youngun are growing up and we appear to be improving week to week. hopefully we stay healthy. i thought things kinda snowballed for gallipolis after the interception by lawless early in the 2nd qtr. i didnt li...

Re: WEEK 5 Gallia Academy (4-0) @ Ironton (4-0)

hopefully the ironton kids realize that the blue devils will be taking a page out of their own book this week. ironton had to hear all last week how they had to play mistake free, etc etc to even have a chance. i have a feeling that is what the gallipolis kids will hear all week this week. i bet the...

Re: 9/17 - IRONTON 43 VS Ashland, KY 6 - FINAL

great job by the coaching staff at ironton in coming up with a defense to shut down the ashland attack. it looked like ashland was completely confused all night. you can say what you want about the penaltys, but they were good calls. ashland shot themselves in the foot with obvious holding calls and...

Re: Burg fans...Ironton and Oak Hill

i have watched ironton and oak hill against burg this year. i think there are a lot of factors to consider. i thought burg was more overall talented and had more depth than ironton when they played. still do. however, ironton is supposed to have 8 starters/backups out for that game, i dont know how ...

Re: Week 2 Ironton (1-0) @ Russell, KY (0-1)

whats the injury report this week for ironton? do we have anyone back that missed the burg game or anyone that wont be available for russell game because of the physical play last week. tribune said that ironton had 8 starters/backups that missed the burg game. was that a typo? i didnt realize we we...

85, are all the extra games playoffs. i didnt realize we had met that many times in the playoffs over the years. i know we played 2x in regular season several years back. how many times have ironton and portsmouth met in the playoffs.

Re: Ironton @ Coal Grove UPDATES (if anyone even wants this)

last year 1st week the kicking game looked pretty bad. i was impressed with the improvement from week 1 to week 2, and it was not a problem all year. we will get that lined out. sounds like with the offense clicking like it was last night we will be able to get lots of work in. coach lutz is a defen...

Re: Your school's best two classes head-to-head

sorry bait, but i dont know the answer to the mann wva. question. if it was before 77or 78 its a little before my time. my personal opinion is the 89 class is one of the best ever, because they went 14-0 and won a state championship. however, i would really have loved to have seen that 78 team and t...

Re: OSU SCARLETT AND GRAY GAME SAT 4/24 1:30

so far it looks like the latter . 7 of 11 for about 110 yards give or take a few. prior looked pretty good made several very sharp throws. so far very impressed with stoneburner, hall and keith wells looks pretty good at end. its a very vanilla defense, but we have speed running everywhere. if we ca...

Re: Was this Jim Tressel's Best Year?

forget the buffalo bills, nobody circles the wagons like jim tressel and the ohio state buckeyes. from the purdue game on absolutely, a great coaching job by jim tressel. the fact of the matter is, if we would have beaten usc, and beaten purdue and been 12-0 at this point. we still would have been r...

Re: Heath's Two Point Conversion Play

oh yeah. kudo's to heath we were expecting it and they still executed it. it looked to me like coach lutz was expecting a lot of things defensively. we stunted into what they were running several times on their opening drive and we just didnt make plays on that drive. if we can put together 4 quarte...

Re: Heath's Two Point Conversion Play

our coaches were all over that play from the beginning. after heath scored, they were getting ready for the 2 point conversion. burcham was at the end of the coaching box getting prestons attention and actually telling him that they were going to run that play. he was simulating a pass while actuall...

Re: D5 - Region 19: (#5) Wheelersburg at (#4) Monroe Central

congratulations to burg. excellent game. the offensive line for wheelersburg gets a game ball in this one. mc just could not stop them. usually if i see a score like this i think the defense was just poor, no tackling, no intensity on defense etc. it was amazing to watch both teams try to stop each ...

Re: If Ohio State were to.......

its crazy to talk about firing tressel, but how can he not look at this offense and see that there is not a problem. the problem with the offensive line has been there for 4 years now, and prior is just terrible. there has been NO progression from last year to this year. that has to go back to coach...

Re: is it possible to make the playoffs at 1-9?

because of the way Kentucky figures their playoffs i believe that you have to win your district and the year Greenup Co. got in their 1 win was against the only other team in their district. kinda like California. :-D
