Re: Navy Football Coaching Clinic
Actually the practice field over looks a wide expanse of Chesapeake bay there at Annapolis, its pretty cool. Kind of different to look out there to see sailing boats on the water while guys are practicing football. Its not a clinic for guys that really just want to use the weekend to party hit a ses...

Buckeyes 3645 I dont know how familiar you are with Jackson or maybe your an outside guy with a perscription for miraculous turn arounds that if applied your way will turn around any football team in the state. Its always interesting to read what people write on here when they give their evaluation ...

Re: The Official "Who's Next at Jackson Thread"
Yeah your right Alexander de Large Jackson ran the option at one time and it was a real horror show. 2004 Hump had a 1200 yard rushing season most of it off the option and 1000 yard passing season at the same time. 2003 eviscerated Mr. Healthy with the midline that year in a play off game. 2004 at L...

Re: Shane Wolford resigns as Jackson head coach
Attitude I do not know how old you are or what deluded idea you have about Jackson football but this is what little bit that I know. During the 1950s you had the Gene Slaughter Era and here are some things about that. The Atomic Plant was booming, Manpower was a big complex and even one of the iron ...

Re: Top S.O.C throwers for the 2009 season? let me no
The Waverly Girl as an 8th grader threw 104 in the Middle School State meet to take first last year. I watched her in a middle school meet and she threw with a lot of power and will have good size as a freshman. Burton from Oak Hill is better in the shot, but I would say her discus will be improved....

Re: SEOAL 2009
Jackson' girls could be more competitive in the sprints and relays if some of the 8th graders from last years junior high squad decide to come out. Im hoping that they dont decide to devote all their time to basketball. They have some talent and could make an impact. I would really like to see the g...

Re: WK 5 Oak Hill (3-1) @ Minford (4-0)
You know most of this stuff comes from people that really have nothing to do with any of the coaching staffs or any of the players. They believe they can fire their teams up by making this stuff up and posting it on here. A Minford person says that the Oak Hill team said this or an Oak Hill person s...

Re: WK 1 Jackson @ Wellston
Wellston pulled out of the SEOAL at around the same time Meigs did, and they both pulled out for the right reasons. They saw the writing on the wall in the early 80s, they were already having a difficult time in the old SEOAL.Their lack of success in recent years against Jackson had nothing to do wi...

Re: Stopping the Rocket Sweep
The criss cross always was a reliable big gainer for Wing T teams that could execute it and it still is. You would be watching for it at some point in the game trying to be ready and then it would still break for a big gain .

Re: Stopping the Rocket Sweep
Criss Cross action is better off of Jet series. Never ran it , but some teams run an actual intercepted pitch counter off the rocket action with the counter back coming under the pitch back. Pitch is just allowed to almost hover, real easy toss with the counter back taking the pitch out of the air. ...

Re: Stopping the Rocket Sweep
I didnt check the rocket out of the gun on jet sweep .com. Carnegie Mellon runs it so it looks like like a speed or load option. There is no pivot and pitch. The play is rocket sweep though, its blocked like the sweep.

Re: Stopping the Rocket Sweep
There is still some good information on there, I just think some of the guys that used to post have not been doing so since they changed the format. Wofford really runs the rocket well and they do have a cheap spring clinic. I kind of always wanted to go but never made it. I have some cut ups on fil...

Re: Stopping the Rocket Sweep
Boogerred have you ever looked on the website http://www.jetsweep.com? There is a rocket counter up on the home page you can play. If you register (no cost) you can get into their discussion board in the video section. Several clips of rocket and rocket counters in action.

Re: Stopping the Rocket Sweep
Thats a tough secondary against the option and the rocket sweep. So Im having some fun here. I know, the last one with the marker board always wins and this is just Xs and Os, so depending on who I had for Jimmy and who I had for Joe I might not be able to execute it. So here goes my turn at the mar...

Re: Stopping the Rocket Sweep
Remember like all plays the Rocket should be part of a series. The Rocket sweep is part of a series of plays that like any other Wing-T series takes advantage of defensive reactions by creating conflicts. The Rocket motion actually becomes as important or more important than the sweep itself. Becaus...
