Re: Nelsonville-york 1-8 @ Athens 5-4

Whoever NY has as their coach next year better go back to the basic fundamentals of tackling and blocking. Throughout the season it seemed like the Bucks were afraid to tackle. The circumstances could have been better, but I was pleased to see Maiden at QB tonight. He seemed poised, calm and confide...

Re: Week 5: Nelsonville-York @ Logan

C-Bolt, I am not aware of the source of the comment that Coach Boston was supposed to have made so I can't speak with any authority on it. All I can offer is that it doesn't sound like something he would say and certainly not to the media. I don't think that I have ever heard him degrade another tea...

Re: Week 5: Nelsonville-York @ Logan

I have to agree with Bucknut on #62. He was getting beaten badly all night and I think he was taking out his frustration with cheap shots. Logan spent more time flapping their jibs tonight than they did playing football. He wasn't the only one. There were a lot of hits that I would classify as "...

Re: Week 5: Nelsonville-York @ Logan

I agree with Logan_Buckeye. This could well be a trap game for NY. Is our confidence too high because we have gotten well on weaker teams or have we turned things around properly? We will find out Friday. If we lose, then we could face some problems with the league schedule. A win should give us an ...

Re: Week 4: Nelsonville-York (1-2) @ River Valley (1-2)

Glad to see the Bucks stay on the winning side of the ball. It's amazing what a couple of players can do for the confidence of a team. Young and North have added a lot to the team. Young took over at the QB position which had been dismal and has become a dual running/passing threat. North is really ...

Re: Week 3: Nelsonville-York (0-2) @ Berne Union (0-2)

Well the Bucks finally get a win, a big win at that....62 to 21. Of course, it was against Berne Union, but we will take it. Coach Boston went with Joey Young at QB and what a difference it made. He lit it up both running and passing. He had 2 very long runs for TD's and also got them throwing. You ...

Congrats to Athens. 62 points, wow! It looks like they still need to work on that D, but what a win.

Re: (0-1) Newark Catholic @ (0-1)Nelsonville-York

The bucks go down 32-6. They actually looked halfway decent at times tonight, but mistakes absolutely killed us. Too many fumbles, problems between the QB and center and the horrible snap on the punt early in the game. When the Buckeyes got their only TD, the drive was 90+ yards. The QB hit one long...

Re: TVC WINS ONLY 4 GAMES FRIDAY ...

I appreciate your point Bulldog, but think back to those teams. Waverly, Coal Grove, Chillicothe, Newark Catholic, Bishop Ready and Logan weren't exactly what I would call quality wins. Certainly, most of those schools have a winning tradition but they weren't playing up to that level last year. Bot...

Re: WEEK 1 PLAYER OF THE WEEK

I have to agree with Gecko for the exact reasons he listed. Konner Standley played like a man among boys Friday night. Being there to see it was very impressive. NY just couldn't stop him on either side of the ball. He also played on special teams.

Re: TVC WINS ONLY 4 GAMES FRIDAY ...

Although the teams within the TVC usually compete fiercely with each other, no one outside of the league has much to worry about. Unfortunately, we continue to show that we are a weak league compared to others in the state. Logan has been way down talent wise the past couple years, so even if we bea...

Re: Big school versus small school debate

I would expect an Athens grad to have no less of an opinion. There are many good arguments that can be had on a wide range or subjects in relation to football, this just isn't one of them. It is merely a distraction used to avoid the discussion of Athens hiding in the TVC. It can be twisted and turn...

Re: SEOAL needs to do something new, how does this look?

There are some interesting alignments there. I for one just hate the idea of out-of-state games and league members. I just don't like them. Although these are all just "wish lists", you never know what will happen by the time Governor Kasich is done with the educational system in this stat...

Re: D III R12 Qtrs: #7 Jackson (10-0) at #2 Athens (10-0)

Ironman92: I don't know how many people the bleachers hold, but I was surprised that they were as small as they were. For a school of Athens size and since they started from the ground up with their new field, I really expected bigger visitor's bleachers. On Friday, the gates opened at 4:30 pm withi...

Re: WEEk 11 West @ Nelsonville-York

It depends on what NY team shows up. We cannot make the type of mistakes we did against Athens. Multiple turnovers and stupid penalties will almost always come back to haunt you. If we can overcome the Athens loss and play like we did in weeks 1-9, then I think it will be a very good, competitive ga...

Re: NY vs. Nelsonville York

Really CavsFan? Are you serious? Did you even read the thread? It was a thread about the league as a whole, not a single team. The idea was for fans of ALL of TVC teams to post their thoughts on their team next year. I posted my thoughts on NY. I could have posted on what I thought other teams had, ...

2012 TVC (Ohio and Hocking) Team Reloading

I was posting in another thread and the topic of what teams will look like next year came up, so let's take a look at it. This is for all teams, not just N-Y. I know that everybody is just trying to go 1-0 this week and not looking past the next game, but let's try to look forward. Regardless of how...

93Bulldog - Your comments weren't negative, they were just an opinion. That's what these boards are for. Too many fans blind themselves to any possible negatives in their program and take any critique as an attack on the school, athletes and coaches. Sometimes the comments may be about them, but I p...

Re: Athens County Stadiums

Thanks for the support of Boston Field 93 Bulldog. Of course, I am biased but I also think the choice is Boston Field. The location, access, parking, ammenities, spirit, friendly atmosphere and not just tradition, but a long winning tradition. Admission is $4 and is general admission. NY students ge...
