Re: Northwest Mohawks @ Piketon Red Streaks Week Three
Piketon 19 Northwest 7
NW was down 13-7 with about 5 min. to go and threw a pick in the red zone. Thought they might pull one out tonight.

Re: SOC scores / standings
Any details on the Northwest game? Sounds like they played one heck of a game!
NW held a 1-0 halftime lead. Burg tied it up about 10 minutes into second half. NW came right back and took a 2-1 lead a few minutes later. Gave up the last two goals in the final 10 minutes or so.

Re: small schools that have consolidated?
Eastern High School in Pike County was formed when Beaver High School and Stockdale High School consolidated. I believe it was around 1961.
In Scioto County, Northwest High School was formed from the McDermott, Otway, and Rarden school districts in 1959.

Re: History of pike.co
Pike lived in the Cincinnati area when he was young, and was stationed in Ohio as a young soldier. His job then was to supply frontier posts in Ohio (possibly could have been to Pike County then)(Pike also claimed to participate in the Battle of Fallen Timbers but there is no record of this). Pike w...

Yeah, I bumped into him here a while back at an OSU game and he told me he was at Peebles. He was still at NG when we moved in '90 but wasn't sure how long he stayed.

Wow, haven't heard some of these names in a long time. I can remember running around as a bat boy when Casey played pony league for my dad. I was young, but I remember they were a pretty good club.

Re: S.O.C. SAYS THANKS BUT NO THANKS
I understand that gahs, I was just trying to make a point. I don't really care either way, I was just responding to the idea that the SOC should just open its doors and create this third conference. I just meant if all of those schools wanted out ( not to say that they do), then what is stopping the...

Re: S.O.C. SAYS THANKS BUT NO THANKS
The thing is the S.O.C could be a 3 Division league. The 3rd being... Ironton Jackson Portsmouth Gallia Academy Chilicothe might wander into this at some point. Just a thought. I think the addition of this division would make the SOC stronger, but none of these schools are already in the SOC... So ...

Re: Portsmouth Daily Times...Commits Another Foul
We DO NOT need featured stories on Waverly, Eastern or Western in the PDT unless they are playing one of the teams FROM Scotio county. I agree the game should have been covered, but not with this statement. First, why only the Pike Co. schools? Why not Oak Hill and Symmes Valley? Second, you may no...
