Re: Trimble's Cameron Kittle Ohio State Spring Game

Kittles made some nice plays and was around the football several times. Saved a sure TD with some nice quickness. I didn’t realize he was a SEO guy. Nice job!! Carrico was around the ball a few times too. Showed improvement in the pursuit angle dept. 4-2-5 gonna create opportunities for one and may ...

Re: Gallia Academy New Coach….

I do know that this young coach is the only coach I have seen attempt to actually address the discipline issues on Friday nights during the past 3 seasons. And the only voice I have heard attempting to resurrect a mistake, another words teach the players.

Re: Gallia Academy New Coach….

No doubt coach P is a good football coach and sets a good example for our young people. Anyone close to this program or even just a common fan in attendance the past 2-3 years has seen a change. I hope those of you questioning the non renewal have the opportunity to discuss this issue personally wit...

Re: Do programs want to get better?

The sport itself, if taught with intensity and a drive to be competitive, will build a foundation allowing young men to become productive adults. I’m sure “bad” people are coaches somewhere but nearly all I have spoken with prioritize creating good people thru discipline and dedication. The aspect o...

Re: Playoffs: Gallia Academy @ Heath

I agree with 83 assessment of the matchups, Heath being a better draw than most of the other top teams. Not saying tonight will be the night they get upset but stranger things have happened. As far as the game interest.... I haven’t seen a drop in effort from the team so I think the off time hurt th...

Re: OVC Chip Portsmouth @ Ironton who you got

The fact that Portsmouth is in a position to win the league says a lot IMO. 4 seasons ago I watched a talented team with way too many I’d and Me’s to be successful. 2 years ago was a night and day difference in mentality. Kudos to the coaches for instilling accountability in the players and kudos to...

If a player really wants to play the participation fee is not an issue.

Re: Week 6: Gallia Academy (2-1) @ Fairland (3-1)

Community support has been the biggest change in my years. Not referencing fundraising support but just overall “go blue” on the signage in town and folks attending games out of pride and support for their community. That support lives on in our surrounding communities from what I have observed. I a...

Re: Week 6: Gallia Academy (2-1) @ Fairland (3-1)

The young people in our system have seen teams with successful seasons; playoffs, very few losses, contending for league titles, players being offered opportunities to continue playing ball after high school. Hard to wrap my head around non participation at this time. Easy times to have pride in bei...

Re: GALLIA ACADEMY @ POINT PLEASANT Battle of the Bridge

It’s easy to call plays in hindsight. I’m guessing these coaches know the capabilities of these players. I do think against a power running team we would benefit from a 50 base defense. It’s much easier to contain the edge with a true end and still have manpower inside to make plays, especially afte...

Re: GALLIA ACADEMY @ POINT PLEASANT Battle of the Bridge

No game Friday as stated. Not looking for another game, with low numbers and multiple injuries from last week “our kids need time to heal”. Things do change but that was the official message from our AD.

Re: WK2 Athens v Gallia Academy

Proud of the Blue last week. Dig deep when the tank appeared to be running empty. Not sure what Athens brings to the table but if the Devils build on those last 2 defensive stops last week we are a tough matchup for the Bulldogs. Especially proud of #63. As a very young man he showed excellent natur...

Third senior class that will be affected by Rona. We are fortunate our elders weren’t this selfish when asked to sacrifice for war efforts. Definitely not a relative. Just a guy that has seen all levels of GA sports for the past 30+ years. Given the opportunity it will show. What I saw 5 years ago, I’ve never seen in a blue and white uniform. At least since tony Logan wore the uniform. No disrespect intended at all to anyone else. Not t...

Re: 2021 GALLIA ACADEMY BLUE DEVILS FOOTBALL

Woodson’s physicality is much underrated. In fact he is the most physical kid we have seen in our jh program in several years including this group of upcoming Sophs and was the most physical kid in the OVC during those years. Don’t let his size influence your opinion. Hence my wording of “what some ...

Time to buy in Blue! No player is larger than the mission or the team. Work hard to be the best version of you possible and you will reap the rewards, in football and in life!!

Imo, it’s time for Woodson to show everyone what some of us have already witnessed.

Since I attended and played at both I’ll say Gallia academy Jeff Golden started after the first 3 games as a freshman went 22-7 as a starter and missed his entire senior year due to an injury. As far as Ironton goes I would maybe have to go with the Carpenter kid who is currently playing probably w...
