Re: Coach Howie Caldwell

I just got a pm from a Trimble poster who informed me that 3 of the 5 starters for Trimble tonight did not start last year. Also that one of them did not even play, and the other two played JV. His point he claimed is that it's not like Trimble had 4 or 5 starters coming back from last years team. ...

Re: Coach Howie Caldwell

I certainly won't ask anyone to let any facts get in the way of those lamenting the loss of Howie Caldwell from their programs. However, I would like to point out that three non starters were on the floor to end the third quarter, including a freshman and another JV player. Also, not all five player...

Re: Southern @ Waterford (3 OTs)

If this game would have been at a neutral site Racine would have won by 15+ Just a normal nite in the hocking. It ashame how bad southeast OH officials are. Not all but most. Ironically, Southern and Waterford are steadfastly against a league assigner. I wonder why? That is the real shame, o...

Re: Trimble vs Belpre

Trimble will struggle to win at Southern and SG. Those folks like that local control when it comes to hiring officials, so I'm sure two or three of Trimble's best players will be on the bench most of those games in foul trouble. Therefore, they will have to return the favor at home if they want a ch...

Re: Nelsonville-York picks up a pair of dual wins

WOW! Nice job by Nelsonville. Glad to see they are filling most of the weight classes. Watched this on 15 and Nelsonville dominated a lot of the matches. Some were surprises, but probably did not surprise coach Yinger. Good job Bucks. Good effort by all three teams.

Re: Best teams in the TVC Hocking (Boys)?

SG is playing very good ball right now. I think they might be good enought to finish at the top this year. Greer is a machine, had 27 in the first game against Green, and 30 lastnight against Belpre. They will get a real test at Waterford and at Trimble. Hard places to win on the road. I see a very...

Re: Trimble Hires Howie Caldwell as next basketball coach

Just curious, but who were all the talented players when Howie went to Eastern? I don't remember Eastern being very good before he got there. I doubt they had a .500 record for several years before he arrived. What plethora of talent drew him to FH? Wow, when he went to eastern they had the most ta...

Re: Trimble Hires Howie Caldwell as next basketball coach

It was more the fact that he didn't want to rebuild and what talent was their at Fed Hock? He won a league championship with that talent???? So I am not sure if you were aware of that or not......once again Fed isnt going to be very good and he hits the road. I bet alot of people in this world woul...

Re: Trimble Hires Howie Caldwell as next basketball coach

Be interesting to see which takes a back seat first. Football which made a State Championship game or Basketball with Howie. Let the battle begin. Once again Howie follows the talent. Its easy to win games when you just leave when the going gets tough. I like Trimble kids they are hard nosed kids b...

Re: Trimble Hires Howie Caldwell as next basketball coach

Two things to keep in mind here: First, the public, including family members of a coach as in this case, can say pretty much what ever they choose in a board meeting. The board and administration are bound contractually and by the law and essentially can not respond with any detail. So you essential...

Re: Officials Needed!!

We are in need of two licensed officials for our varsity shootout on Friday, June 6th. Games start at 9:00 AM and end at 3:00 PM. Please email Coach Prince at bprince@hcs-k12 if interested. Why use licensed officials? Haven't you read on here about how horrible they are? I think this is a great opp...

You should know about complaining and hiding behind screen name. I have been an official in the past, no way would I do it now. To much extra crap to put up with, don't have the energy. Plus you just expose yourself to people like you to get on here and complain about how bad a call was or this or ...

He was on the staff a few years back. He was not the varsity HC, but was the most qualified on that staff to be the HC IMO.

It's a shame they dumped their long time coach from last year. He was just starting to turn the corner is what the admin told me. Then they don't bring him back? Hopefully this new coach can pick up where he left off and enjoy the fruits of his labor?
