Re: Sider Basketball 2010-2011

Excellent coaching staff with Bradford and Parkes. They'll get it turned around.

Re: Wheelersburg 2010-2011

The starting five is pretty good but the bench is very young and does not have the talent that Burg usually has had. Shank and McBee will be a very good set of guards, and Stegman is very good.

Re: Wheelersburg 2010-2011

Barrick is a great coach and will always have a competetive team. Stegman is back next year. Look for McBee and Massie to be really good. I bet Whitley comes back out and with Bendolph that is a pretty good team especially if Shankwiler is able to play.

Re: A 4w-5L Wheelersburg??

I agree with most of what Marshallman says but I think the absence of Whitely, Kemper, Craigmiles and (by injury) Shankwiler has really hurt Burg. WB has two exceptional players in Bendolph and Stegman and one exceptional freshmen in McBee. The rest are pretty ordinary. Given that Shankwiler, Kemper...

Re: Oak Hill @ Burg 1-19-10

The SOC II is really interesting this year. It looks like Oak Hill and Waverly, then Valley, South Webster, Burg, and Northwest, then Minford, and then West. It is really competetive.

Re: Oak Hill @ Burg 1-19-10

Barrick finally put in a point guard and Burg improved dramatically. Oaks still too much for Burg. Oaks by 10.

Re: Burg vs. Minford 1/15/10

No problem here with the Minford effort. The problem is no size and no shooters. If someone gets hot, they can be tough.

Burg's season ended with the make up of the team before the season started. I think the phrase is the chickens came home to roost.

Re: Valley @ Northwest 1-6-10

Then why didn't NW use a timeout to honor Leslie. Villinger's first duty is to his team not to honoring a NW player at the exact time and circumstance that NW wanted. Surely, NW's coach realized that Leslie was getting close. Didn't NW have a plan to honor him?

Re: Waverly @ Minford Jan.5

Waverly is the best team and the only complete team in the SOC II. They looked real good last night. Minford has a lot of real good athletes but no real basketball player and no spot up shooters. It's easy to see just by the look test why Minford is getting better in football. It is pretty obvious t...

Re: Final: Portsmouth 64 @ Wheelersburg 60 on 12/15/09

Time to move up Massie or McBee or both? Burg is really decimated by the players that did not or are unable to play. But, one thing is sure. A Barrick team will get better as the season goes on.

Portsmouth is not very good and Burg is a shadow of what it could have been but Burg should win fairly easily.

Re: Waverly vs. Wheelersburg

Burg is a shadow of what they could have been and Waverly has the best point guard in the league and a lot of players and atheletes. Waverly should win. However, we do know this: a Barrick team gets better as the season progresses. Will Waverly?

Re: Eastern Pike @ Minford

I am not kidding. I think the SOC II has a lot of middle of the road teams with Waverly being the only complete team.
