Week 7: South Point (2-4; 1-2) @ Portsmouth (2-4; 1-2)
This game will be for Pride-not Prize, as both teams are essentially, if not mathematically, eliminated from the playoff picture. Two speedy teams with some nice skill players with each team having a first year coach. The one common opponent was Fairland (South Point won 32-8; Portsmouth won 35-7). ...

Re: WEEK 7: Notre Dame (4-2, 2-1) @ Symmes Valley (3-3, 2-1)
If the Vikings are able to win this game, they control their own destiny, playoff wise. So with something to play for, I look for Symmes Valley will play an intense defense and could cause some turnovers, especially if we get rain again this weekend. The game being at Symmes Valley does not help the...

Re: Week 7: Alexander (5-1, 3-0) @ River Valley (5-1, 2-1)
Looks like rain is on the way for Friday Night, which could slow down the passing attack of the Raiders. Alexander has an athletic defense, that could capitalize on any mistakes the weather may cause for the Raiders. I look for this to be a one score game, with the winner being on the positive side ...

Rivalry Trophies
As we enter the last phase of the Football Season, a lot of Rivalries are coming up soon. Some rivalries are very old, some are very new with conference re-alignment and such. Of these Rivalries, which ones have a "trophy" or "prize" that go between the two schools, where the Win...

How about a Kettle?
Anybody got an old Bean Pot they want to paint orange black and red? Winner keeps the Kettle.
By the way, I have absolutely no say in this matter whatsoever, but it sure would be fun.

Rock Hill has South Point, Fairland, and Ironton left on the schedule (only 9 games). They could go 7-2.

This game should have some sort of trophy for the winner to keep in their trophy case each year.

Re: Pre-Season Top 10
Henry Jones, Jr.: Good post, but I have to slightly disagree about Ironton. The Fighting Tigers lost leading scorer Tristan Cox, postman Dylan Malone, and starter Joe Bowling. I know they have starters Marquis Davis and Philip Kratzenburg returning, reserve Desmond Young back, with Travis Carey fro...

Re: Pre-Season Top 10
Three out of the 4 SE District Finalists in D3 last year were from the OVC. Only OVC teams eliminated other OVC teams in the tournament. OVC teams were 7-1 vs. the field (the only loss was Portsmouth to Eastmore in the Regional Finals). The record would have been better, if four OVC teams had not be...

Re: THE NEW LOOK OF THE NEW OVC 2015
I will say it again...the OVC is MUCH bigger than just football. But eventually, the OVC will have its playoff run in football. This notion that the OVC is weak is silly. Yes, when compared to Burg or Valley the OVC doesn't stack up but think about this from just 2015: Chesapeake beat Oak Hill Chesa...

Re: Week 6: (0-5) Fairland vs (1-4) Ironton
The Dragons are young, but they will come to the Tank to play hard, but can they play hard for 4 quarters? Fairland led Portsmouth at the half, and Fairland was only down 7 at South Point at the half. If the Dragons can stay in the game, and take advantage of second half turnovers, then there could ...

Week 6 - Portsmouth (2-3; 1-1) @ Rock Hill (3-2; 1-1)
Oh boy, I don't know where to start here...
Portsmouth is capable of making some big plays. They have more speed than Rock Hill, but can the Trojans stop the running attack and the determination of the Redmen?
This is a big game for both teams. It could be a dandy.
