Re: VC Suffers it's Second Loss

Maybe I look at my Alma mater and see all the state championships we have won, sometimes we had to beat those schools with DI players; it can be done. Oh! How sweet it is! :aaaaa99 "A BIT OF A RATTLE SNAKE" State championship in West Virginia? Winning the TVC is a bigger accomplishment th...

Re: VC Suffers it's Second Loss

Underachieving? That could be one of the dumbest statements I have ever read on here. Besides averaging 17 wins a year, the Vikings have won league titles in 04, 05, 07, 08, 09, 11, and 2012. That's 7 titles in the last 9 years! The 2 years they didn't win the league (06 and 2010) they finished as r...

Re: Junior high girls basketball

Southeastern's 7th grade girls are currently 4-0. They have played and beat:
Paint Valley (high 60's to 4)
Unioto (38-23)
Huntington (75-4)
Zane Trace (46-8)

Unfriendly Experiences at Vinton County

Poster smurray brought this up on another thread. Apparently, Waverly was homered "big time" in McArthur last night. Are there any other posters who have had negative experiences while at Vinton County?

It was ugly but considering the circumstances (including playing at Vinton County) I thought the Tigers fought hard and gave it all they had.
So are you saying Waverly was cheated at VC?

Re: Top Southeast DII Teams 2012-2013

Only problem would be getting some quailty coaching at the varsity level. Good point! As a VC basketball fan, I really had my hopes up when Combs was in the running for the Chillicothe job. I was really hoping he would leave and we could get John Royster to take over the boys program. Hopefu...

Hale looks to turn around struggling program at Vinton Count

Terry "Pup" Hale has taken over the coaching duties at Vinton County. Look for Hale to bring VC out of its slump and restore pride into the VC golf program once again.

Re: Jackson Coach Heath McKinniss Resigns

I've also heard the hair stylist was the main person to push this issue. Can we just announce her name on here or would that be a no-no. Anyway, everyone in Jackson (which I am not) knows who she is. You would think there would be some shame on her part knowing what she has done.

Re: Jackson Coach Heath McKinniss Resigns

I92 is correct, I have been having some fun with this because I get to talk about lame guys like Morrow and Kight. However, in all seriousness, it is a shame how this all happened. Although I don't really know Coach McKinness, everyone I know speaks very highly of him. Things like this are what caus...

Re: Jackson Coach Heath McKinniss Resigns

I think you folks are forgetting an obvious candidate. NJ Kight!!! He has an inside track to the job with his father being the AD. Spent a year assisting Coach Combs at VC to prepare him for the role. Doesn't have a wife or kid (like Morrow) to tie him down. Furthermore, he will probably never be ab...

Re: Jackson Coach Heath McKinniss Resigns

I92, you could list some reasonable names. Morrow would be a joke! He needs to be at home growing old with his wife and little Kip. He doesn't have time to be coaching!

Re: Jackson Coach Heath McKinniss Resigns

Coach Heath McKinniss resigned after two years at the helm of the Jackson basketball program. He did a very good job preparing his team for each matchup and put in countless hours. I feel he did a good job. Jackson lost almost all of their offense to graduation. I've heard some former players might...

Re: Chillicothe Coach Gary Kellough Steps Down

More like withdrew to save face, since they weren't going to get the job. You are incorrect here. I know Combs declined to interview a second time and he was asked to come back for a second interview. I think Lisath and Combs probably decided they were happy where they were. I don't think it was an...

Re: New Coach at Vinton County

Sid, that's a pretty interesting list of potential candidates to replacement Coach Combs. But I have a very good feeling that Matt Combs will be staying at VC. You are correct about this. I was just having some fun by listing some potential candidates. Matt decided he was staying at Vinton County o...

Sid, that's a pretty interesting list of potential candidates to replacement Coach Combs. But I have a very good feeling that Matt Combs will be staying at VC. New Coach at Vinton County

Looks like there is a very good chance Combs may be the next coach at Chillicothe. Who will be taking over at Vinton County if that's the case. Here are some choices: John Royster - former JV coach, had great year after great year including a 20-0 record in his final season. Travis Hale - current JV...
