If the season starts a week earlier, does that mean NY and Trimble no longer play Saturday games? That would be parade day for the Parade of the Hills in Nelsonville.

Re: Old Dominion University eliminates wrestling, unhappy in CUSA
The last time I saw figures, the MAC made more money than Conference USA. CUSA used to make more money back before all those teams left for the AAC. When that contract expired, the new contract was for less money than the MAC receives, as CUSA today is now more or less the old Sun Belt Conference. ...

I think you mean 1991 vs. Bishop Ready instead of 1992.

You definitely need the '92 and '94 NY vs. Logan games. Those were undefeated seasons for NY!

I wish Raw and Smackdown were as good as NXT. Hunter pretty much runs the show at NXT, but Vince still lurks in the background with Raw and Smackdown. When the day comes that Hunter has control over Raw and Smackdown too, I'm hoping things improve. There are moments of greatness, but too much crap ...

Re: GA to the TVC-O
Gallia Academy is the only former SEOAL rival of Nelsonville-York that NY has not played in football since NY left the SEOAL. The last football game played between the two schools was 1969 (NY's last season in the SEOAL was the '69-'70 school year). They have played each other in other sports since...

Re: Potential Nonconference Scheduling
It would be difficult to do this due to each team having certain non-conference rivalry games played during certain weeks of the season. While not impossible, it would be a scheduling nightmare to pull it off. It would also severely limit new non-SEOAL schools from ever being added to a non-confere...

Re: Downfall of the SEOAL
Researching history tends to bring more questions than answers. I have wondered about the "Athletic" thing too......SEOL and TVAC? Fort Frye in the TVC? The SEOAL, er SEOL, schools were very gracious in NY's departure. From the November 10, 1969 Logan Daily News..... In other business, as...

Re: Downfall of the SEOAL
I've done some research on NY school history via old editions of the Logan Daily News. Here is an article that talks about NY first considering leaving the SEOAL (back when it was called the SEOL). Also, note that the article makes reference to Fort Frye joining the TVC, but that never panned out. ...

Re: Downfall of the SEOAL
The SEOAL should have split into two divisions in the 1960s when schools were consolidating. The TVC was founded by teams that were rejected from gaining admission into the SEOAL. Then, SEOAL schools started leaving the SEOAL for the TVC. You could have had: Division A - TVC Vinton County Belpre Wa...

Re: Fort Frye needs games 2021
If not renewing a two-year home and home series against a non-conference opponent is considered "dropping", then pretty much every school drops multiple schools every season. Trimble is the only non-conference team that NY plays year after year. The other three nonconference games in 2020...

Re: Will Fed Hock have football?
I wonder if Federal Hocking is simply playing the junior varsity team of the other school? When I researched Nelsonville-York football history, I noticed that prior to consolidation, York High School often played the junior varsity team of other schools rather than the varsity team. So York's sched...

Re: Will Fed Hock have football?
TVC Hocking has 3 years left at max. Eastern, Southern and South Gallia are in discussions to leave the league ASAP. I've heard they are attempting to get Fed Hock and River Valley to leave with them and make a new 5 team conference. Then they will add teams from there. Just a rumor, but it's the w...

Out of curiosity, I looked up the history of the CCL on Wikipedia. It looks like the CCL had several former members, many of which are schools that no longer exist. Central Catholic League Columbus Bishop Hartley Hawks (1957-) Columbus Bishop Ready Silver Knights (1960-) Columbus Bishop Watterson E...

Re: Time for a big school league south and east of Columbus
What is the reasoning for the Central Catholic League to disband? From the outside, it seems like it is a nice setup in terms of competition and distance, plus the Catholic background of each school.
