Joe Eitel vs. OHSAA Stats??
Okee Dokee, Joe Eitel's site says: "OHSAA has slightly modified the weekly L2 divisor calculation from previous seasons, this is partially included here. This difference will not affect the final divisor after 10 weeks, rather only the week-to-week may show discrepancies." Ahem, can someon...

Re: WK6 (5-0) Warren @ (1-4) Meigs
First, congrats to Meigs on a hard fought game. We knew they were tough because of the game they played against Nelsonville. They got Warren down early, then took it to them all night and just about pulled off the upset. The Meigs line was not as big as Warren's, but they won the night, hands down. ...

Game day!!
The rain has arrived, but really seems to be breaking-up quite a bit. I don't think it will rain during the game. In fact, I don't think the field should be that wet by game time.
Let's hope for an injury free game.
Big, Bad, Blue . . . Let's get win number 6!

Re: Should the TVC let Warren back in?
So far it looks like the folks in favor of letting Warren back in are from Athens, N-Y & Belpre. That doesn't surprise me as these are the schools that feel like they can compete with Warren. I'd be interested to hear what the folks from VC, Wellston, Meigs and the other schools might have to sa...

Re: Belpre 2010-11 Hocking Schedule
How long can Belpre-Warren keep going with such a large gap in enrollment? Mister B, do you happen to know what the enrollments were for each school the last time Belpre defeated Warren? I know it wasn't that long ago, but I just wonder how much things have changed in that short time. I don't know e...

Re: WK6 (5-0) Warren @ (1-4) Meigs
So many things are different this season. For example, last year the players had very limited film time and scouting/game strategy was just not very sophisticated. This week the Warren players have been watching Meigs film for hours (several watch for at least an hour a day). On Monday they had the ...

Re: WK6 (5-0) Warren @ (1-4) Meigs
What I want to know is, in the picture that the Marietta Times ran yesterday, I know who #6 is, but who was that #58? It looks like #6 is rolling out getting ready to pass the ball, and #58 is out there too. It looks like #58 has pulled from the line and is making a good block. I've seen #6 out ther...

Re: WK6 (5-0) Warren @ (1-4) Meigs
I was thinking along the same lines . . . the teams Warren is playing this year are the same teams that they have played historically. The teams make sense geographically and demographically. The teams have all been competitive in recent history. They are also teams that pretty much everyone picked ...

Re: WK6 (5-0) Warren @ (1-4) Meigs
Warren needs to earn respect every step of the way this season. I don't want them going into any games with the notion that they are just going to step onto the field and win automatically. If they take every opponent seriously and prepare every week, they'll be fine. If they think somehow that winn...

Good luck to both teams!

Re: Week 5 Point Pleasant, WV @ Warren
Case in point . . . when this year's seniors were in 8th grade they only had 16 players on the entire team and won only a single game. Marietta beat them like a red-headed step child (no offense to the red-headed kids in the crowd). They stuck together and worked like crazy and now they are having s...

Re: Week 5 Point Pleasant, WV @ Warren
I think that's true. I was at the first Jr. High game and they would have beaten Blennerhasset but had 2 TDs called back. They were driving the ball up and down the field, but the penalties . . . good golly!? They seem to be "snatching defeat out of the jaws of victory" quite a bit this se...

Re: Week 5 Point Pleasant, WV @ Warren
The JV team has played Trimble, Belpre, Morgan and Marietta. Despite starting a number of Freshman players, the team is 4-0 and has not really been challenged . . . yet. They defeated Marietta this week by a 21-8 score. Leffingwell (FR) is usually the starting JV QB, but he has a tweaked ankle. Wind...

I forgot that we did, in fact I still can't remember it specifically . . . I'm getting old.
Anyhoo, I'll take your word for it. As hard as it is to grasp, I guess Pifer just plain ol' forgot about the biggest annual event in the greater metropolitan Barlow area!

Re: Week 5 Point Pleasant, WV @ Warren
Yeah, I never heard anything about PP canceling. There was a mix-up on the scheduling due to the Barlow Fair, but that's it. Warren hadn't had a home game scheduled on a Barlow Fair weekend for a few years and, therefore, the fair had not been considered when the original contract was signed. All th...

Just learned today that the soccer game has been moved to an earlier time. I think it will now be played at 11:00a.

Re: WK5 Point Pleasant, WV @ Warren
I just Googled a bit and Point Pleasant is 2-1, having had a bye last week. They have defeated Tug Valley and South Point, both are which are now (I'm pretty sure) 0-4. Point was beaten by Sissonville, who I believe is now 3-0 and ranked in the top 5 in WV AA football. Looks like Point will be anoth...

Week 5 Point Pleasant, WV @ Warren
Warren finally beat Marietta in what has become the biggest rivalry game of the season. The Warriors are 4-0 for the first time in a long, long time. Now it's time to keep getting better and keep taking care of business. Point Pleasant, WV will be visiting this Saturday evening with hopes of being t...

Re: WK4 Marietta @ Warren SEOAL Game
C'mon kids (Warren and Marietta folks) this is a great rivalry that has been pretty evenly played over the years. Supporting our teams no matter what while demonstrating sportsmanship makes it better. Fussing at at each other about schedules, injuries, etc., etc. both detracts from the rivalry and s...
