Re: 3/3 Northwest v Portsmouth
NW had the easiest schedule in the area and loss to couple soc 3 teams . If they wouldn’t have moved down they might be 500 this year . Their numbers are almost double to south webster who stayed in the good soc cause a harder schedule prepares you tournament . NW elected to play with the weak soc ...

Re: SOVC
Most of the OVC wants to get away from Ironton. Some of the SOC schools are listening because some of the SOC football programs don’t have the numbers to be in SOC 2 and are too big for SOC 1. (In Football) The new highway makes it doable more than ever before. Who knows if it ends up being just a f...

Re: Coaching Vacancies 2020-2021
If he’s really hooked on coaching, why didn’t he stay at his last school. Let me guess , talent ! That’s ok , I guess he’s earned that right. Hope they do well 👍 With all your posts on this subject, I have a hard time believing you hope they do well. And that’s fine. The opportunity was there to do...

Re: Coaching Vacancies 2020-2021
If Persin goes to Valley from Oak Hill, does Valley become the front runner? Oak Hill probably will feel slighted about the short "retirement." Oak Hill got a State Championship from him, so they should get over it. There been rumblings about Persin looking for next landing spot since Feb...

Re: Coaching Vacancies 2020-2021
I am not getting on here to bash the last head coach. I have no personal issues with him whatsoever. But I believe that more success will come with a change. Obviously we won’t know that. But you also will not know that. There were some things, without going into details, that I feel like the new co...

That of course goes for E High too. ????
I just want to know if you’ll be here after this hire and let me know if it was a good decision or not. ??

Re: Coaching Vacancies 2020-2021
I agree ... I’m entitled to my opinion just as you are. The “fact” is the coach before was told to resign his position or he would be non-renewed I’m just stating the fact that this administration and this Board has made decisions that make Valley look like a second tier school district. It will be...

Re: Coaching Vacancies 2020-2021
I think it will work out fine at Valley. The school board will make a good decision about the future there and Valley will be back soon. Relax. If they made the call to change it, then there must be enough reason and foresight to make the school system better. My guess is they have a plan. Let’s see...

Re: Predict the District Championships
It's a shame to hear of all this recruiting and stuff going on at Minford.
Such a shame.
Do they have to declare ineligibility for the tournament to avoid sanctions and probation??

Re: Jimmy Joe Sheridan Has Passed Away
I have waited to reply to Jimmy Joe on here. But after the commentary in the Tribune, I wanted to say that I will truly miss him. He was a good friend. I love talking football with him. Jimmy Joe was always smiling and never knew a stranger. Never a dull moment. I worked at the Chemical plant in Hav...

YES! Welcome back oh, Great one. The king of conversation, the master of his domain, the rock in the mud, the leader of the pack, the lion of the Sahara, the Tiger<-- whoa! sorry, didn't mean to call you a tiger. The chief of the Tribe. How's that. Yes, my friends, when things get boring around here...

It is very nice to see everyone post on here about Becky. I saw her this weekend at her grandson's baseball game. She looked great. She is a wonderful person and friend. We all pray for her and those that know her well love her also. She is one "tough" cookie and will get through this with...

Re: I suppose this makes Coach Persin a great coach now
Great posts by all. I want to make very clear that there are alot of great coaches that have not tasted a championship. First of all, great coaches teach well, and there can be many coaches that fall under that. Success on the court or field is not what makes the coach. It is the respect that is ear...
