Re: Possession Arrow Ruining the Game?
Survey I took this year asked about the opening jump ball and if we would like to see it go. Replace it with a coin flip. Can you imagine? Coin Flip!! It's coming. Usually these surveys are 2-3 years away from what will happen. I hope you are correct on this. I hate the jump ball. Most officials ca...

A few words come to mind here. Real ugly, and real early are a few that stick out.

Ugly, and early are two words that come to mind when pondering this game.

Re: Nelsonville-York
there will be no deep tourney run.....IF they make it out of the sectional, they will get destroyed at the convo depends on the seeding ... I don't think a team like Minford or Chesapeake (this years peake team) would destroy NY ... the DIII is not as strong as it has been the last couple of years,...

No, I did not mean aside from anyone. Jay has proven that as of late.

Re: Nelsonville-York @ Vinton County 2/18
The Vikings are A Better coached team...Vikings by 8... Funny stuff. Once again, Jay is the best coach in the TVC as he proved in this game. If not for some shady officiating at Athens, NY would have won that game since Jay was the better coach there as well. I feel a deeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeppp...

Re: Nelsonville-York
Jay will have them ready. I think we are now seeing why folks have been saying for years that Jay is a great coach. After the graduation of one of the best basketball players to ever play at NY last year he is still getting these kids to perform. Aside from Athens with all the talent they have this ...

Re: Nelsonville Basketball
Depends on how many play. Right now they are probably favored to be last in the TVC Ohio. They lost quite a bit, but do return some people if they decide to play. It will be interesting to see Coach Kline's number when practice does start. Jay is the best used car salesman in the school district. H...

Re: 1980 and 82 Southern Hustlin Tornadoes
I know what you wrote, and it appeared you were meaning D1 basketball since this is a basketball forum. I am old enough to know that Taggert could shoot, but athletic? He was slow, and could not jump over the half court line if his life depended on it. But he was a great shooter. Mays was big and st...

Re: 1980 and 82 Southern Hustlin Tornadoes
My point is you seemed to want to insinuate that some of the NY players played D1 basketball. Didn't Kent Wolfe play basketball at the college level?

Jay has been at NY for a long, long time. Hasn't been the head coach all that time. But he has been the coach for more than ten years total over the last 15 or so.

Re: Home court advantage
According to the AD the schools who traditionally voted no on an assigner do not have enough numbers any more to vote it down. Of course I am sure the Gallia County bunch won't want one either, so maybe they will be able to defeat it again. He said he is going to bring it up again though, so here's ...

To dangerous to send the kids to school but teachers can get their paychecks and they won't cancel ball games. The schools are willing to risk kids and families just to play a game. Seems like sports take a higher priority than being safe or learning. Teachers drive their own vehicles to get their ...

Not sure I remember such posts about being 'the best in the state.' All the people I know have the same feelings toward coach Skinner now as they did two years ago ... Me included. They are not posting the same things on here now though are they? There were those saying, "one of the best in th...
