2015 SOCI and SOC II favorites, thoughts.....

Do not know a lot about the large school division except for I saw Burg this summer and they looked good, also figure Webster should be tough but other than that not sure. In small school division I really think this could be the year that my Lady Vikes break through and win the conference, but we w...

Re: Public 3 Private 1(No crying from the private side)

I always wondered why there arent more divisions basketball than just 4, can anyone give a good reason, in our area in D4 there can be a big difference in D4 school size to me the difference between 25-40 boys or girls compared to 100-110 is a much bigger difference than a school with 500-600 compar...

Got word today that Brandon resigned, he will be sorely missed!

Re: Eastern(Pike) @ Western 12/18

seen both teams play my take is Western is a better balanced team and way deeper but that being said Eastern has a better star player. I will take Western by 5 maybe in overtime. This game could be a big factor in deciding the league champion.

Re: Games tonight? 12/8

Lady vikings may have let one slip away last night, intensity was there just having a difficult time putting the ball in the basket.

Re: SOC I and II 2014-15

Well one game in the Lady Vikings will have to play catch up in the league with an OT loss vs Clay. Girls played erratic to say the least and foul trouble and poor shooting was our demise. Hope to bounce back vs Green and get the girls some confidence. With that being said from scores and previews I...

Re: SOC

From what I have witnessed and looking at scores I would say it will fall out something like this: 1. Burg 2. Webster 3. Northwest 4. Oak Hill 5. Valley 6. Minford 7. West 8. Waverly I think Burg and Webster will split, with Northwest and/or Oak Hill knocking one of the top 2 off to decide the champ.

Re: SOC I and II 2014-15

Was able to see the ladies play rock hill and then ND last night. Had a couple girls missing but seemed to play better as the night went on. I think we will be ok as long as the young ones can produce during the season. ND looks to be a handful this year they only had 6 players there but were fast a...

Re: Pike Western Coaching Job

Maybe so 80sballer. All I am saying is that if you could find a coach who would demand discipline from his players, and can get parents to cooperate, and just be parents, that the talent is there to win the SOC1. I obliviously know that Eastern is going to be good again (Coach Fitch) deserves more ...

Re: Pike Western Coaching Job

Western played one freshman this past year, and played a couple sophomores limited minutes. They r going to have 6 Seniors with 3 years varsity experience. If and its a BIG IF they can play together they should be TOPs in the SOC 1. Some great talent on this team. Along with Shanks at PG, Garrett t...

Re: SOC I and II 2014-15

Its difficult to argue that Western might have the most talent coming back, I beleive all 5 starters return. Symmes will miss Hunt and Maynard, but Payne coming back will ease some of that pain. Nd has some very good athletes and can flat get after you. Eastern losing Alley will be big but with Rone...

SOC I and II 2014-15

What teams are looking strong for next year? I know our Viking should be in the mix for the div 1 title, they return a solid core, I believe eastern and western return a bunch and notre dame seems to be strong year in and year out. Dont know much about div 2, but believe webster and the oaks should ...

Re: officials

The problem in the SOC from what I have been told is that the officials are assigned but have a say in which games they want. Many nights all the good refs are doing the best teams or games and we get stuck from refs out of the area that cannot get games local to them. There are some good refs in th...
