Re: Will any Pink Floyd's projections make it to The Shott ?
I've seen a lot of the better teams in the state this year in several divisions, some observations: DIV: Harvest prep is better than last years final four team, IMO they are the favorite to win the state title unless Africentric knocks them off in the regional. They are better than Tri-Village, IMO ...

PVC, Tanner Clark tore ligaments in his ankle against Fort Frye during football season.
Coach Duck, my brother says the same about you. I'll be there scouting The Big Red for Cambridge, good luck next week.

New Lex is without their best player for the year, sophomore Luke Barnette has a back injury and won't play. New Lex has lost 80-48 to Sheridan, 61-48 to Fairfield Union, and 70-12 to Tri-Valley (a game they were literally down 37-0 at halftime in and 60-2 through three quarters. They have returning...

Re: Peebles vs. Africentric Regional Semi 3/11
There is no real solution to the private v. public debate. Some private schools (Bellaire St. Johns, Ironton St. Joe for example) aren't athletic recruiting powerhouses and don't intend to be. I'm sure there are numerous private schools that are not. There are also some that are given an unfair adva...

Re: Eastern (24-1) vs Newark Catholic (25-2)
This was a great game to watch. I'm a Sheridan graduate (the school Parkinson was poached from after her freshman year lol) she is a terrific player. These were two great teams. Could the outcome have been different with Parkinson on the floor? Certainly, but it wasn't. Three of her fouls were legit...

Re: PVC 2014 (Tournament Update)
Watching my brother's team this winter, I think the opposite guru. Caldwell is much better against teams that pressure them and play man to man because they have good guard play. Teams that grind them and play really good, disciplined half court basketball give them a harder time. I know he didn't w...

Re: DII LOGAN SECTIONAL RESULTS
Wow, can't believe the lack of chatter from people after last night. Elm gets ripped apart for losing to a very good opponent Bloom Carroll in their fourth game in a week without their best player. Why is nobody talking about Warren struggling with a terrible New Lex team last night? was 49-46 with ...

Running thread and discussion on this. One of the best DII sectionals anywhere. Current records: 1. Logan Elm (13-1) 2. Warren Local (11-3) 3. Athens (11-3) 4. Sheridan (9-4) 5. Vinton County (7-5) 6. Meigs (6-4) 7. Marietta (6-6) 8. Fairfield Union (5-8) 9. New Lex (4-8) The top three are all scary...

Re: Trimble Tomcat Basketball 2014??????
Good win over Belpre for Trimble last night. Coach Moore was an assistant @ Sheridan my junior year of high school in 2000 when we went to a regional. He knows the game and was respected by all of us. Trimble played in a state football championship game a month ago. It takes time for high school tea...

They have 5'10 senior PG Jordan Barr who is tremendous an nothing else. If fort plays well they cruise.

Re: Beasts of the Southeast - Chesapeake HS Jan 11th
Looks like a good day of hoops. How is Chesapeake doing this year? Always a solid program. I know West Muskingum gets one of their transfer players back for this game. The other will be back Monday. Easily their two best players so they should be improved.

Re: Pioneer Valley 13-14
It will be a good basketball league again. I think there will be several good games in the league. An early one to watch will be Monroe Central @ Caldwell on a Saturday night to open the season for the Redskins. Central plays us (West M) @ home the night before.

Very limited playing time and scholarship opportunities at powerful division two programs like Findlay and West Liberty. They are better than several division one programs, heck Findlay beat Ohio State in a preseason game not all that long ago. I haven't heard of this kid but hopefully he is healthy...

Re: Pioneer Valley 13-14
I've seen all of these teams coaching an M.V.L. team that competes in the eastern district and having my brother coaching in your league. I also coordinate a lot of O.Y.B. spring tournaments, or AAU as many call it though it actually isn't sanctioned AAU. Based on what I've seen of these teams and p...

Bloom has their hands full to get out up there. How the heck do they have to travel all the way to BG for a regional game? Did LCC win the other game up there?
