Re: Philo @ Fort Frye scrimmage Aug 14 10 am
Earth, wind, and fire? Only 2 more nicknames and you can create Captain Planet! And dangerous in Region 19? I highly doubt that. I'm not sure if they'll be any better than they were last year. Monroe Central dominated the PVC last year and they didn't get out of the first round. Don't see how you th...
Re: PVC 2010
I'm not gonna comment to much on this because i'm pretty sure we had the whole speed debate back on the huddle, but anyways, speed is great to have and all, but it's not unbeatable. Smart players that can take good angles and tackle well can somewhat negate speed. Not to mention, with all those play...
Re: PVC 2010
More weapons than anyone in the league? You mentioned 3 guys on the offensive side of the ball. I'm sure almost every team in the PVC will have about 2-3 play makers, maybe more depending on the team. And like you said, it was against Beallsville and Conotton Valley, not exactly great competition.
Re: PVC 2010
Watson started vs Rosecrans he is an athlete a little out of position.Shon Smith is a sophmore with gobs of talent. He dident play last year.He went 6-1 in jr high as a starter. He had 18 tds and only 4 picks. If Watson was the QB during the Caldwell game, that's kind of what I was thinking to. Good ...
Re: PVC 2010
Just read the Fort Frye thread. They have some decent size in some places on the O-line, but I wouldn't label it as "huge". Did Smith or Watson play QB after Robinson went down last year? Pretty young on the outside too. For right now, i'll say Fort Frye finishes at either 6-4 or 7-3. Loss...
Re: PVC 2010
Agree that Monroe is pretty much above everyone else. I don't know what Frontier's lines will look like, but at least on offense, with Fickisien (sp?) returning he should be able to make the right reads rather quickly. Plus I believe they have a pretty good RB returning as well. There are ways to ta...
Re: PVC 2010
Had a little preview of the Frontier football team in the Marietta paper today. Should have a pretty good squad. Not really sure of their schedule, but i'm guessing they'll finish right around where they were last year, something like 7-3 or 8-2. Start off the season @ Shenandoah I believe. Their co...
Re: PVC 2010
I'm interested to see how Caldwell does this year. It seems, for some reason, that a lot of people like to basically just hate on Caldwell, or basically give them little credit for what they've done. And i'm not coming on here complaining because we don't get respect or anything like that, because I...
Re: PVC 2010
Although I'd like to see Caldwell win the PVC, I think MC is set up best to take the crown.
Very early prediction, but this is how I see it shaking out.
1. MC
2. Caldwell
3. Frontier
4. Fort Frye
5. Shenandoah
6. River
7. Buckeye Trail

Re: PVC 2010
Everybody said the same thing about Caldwell last year and I think they performed pretty well. This team was young for the most part. They'll lose a couple good players, but have some pretty good ones returning as well. It'll be really hard to replace a player like Todd, but hopefully somebody can s...
Re: PVC 2010
Very early prediction, but I'd say Caldwell and Monroe Central will probably be the early favorites. Frontier could possibly make some noise as well.

Re: Welcome former JJ posters to SEOPS!
I've read this site for a while now, but just recently joined up since the Huddle decided to ruin their's. Being an alum of a current PVC school, I'm hoping more PVC followers make the switch. Although, it would help if the people here at SEOP tried to incorporate more PVC related news and topics to...

Re: Pioneer Valley Conference
PVC has never been a very strong league in basketball, at least not that I can remember. Fort Frye and Buckeye Trail are probably the top of the PVC. After that there are a few teams that could make some noise, but in terms of post-season success, it'll most likely come from the Fort or Trail.
