Re: Are Truckers going on strike??

Well, I talked to his wife, and she said that he was told not to go to work yesterday, but was called and told that the trucks were to be on the road today, as they were, but that in the next week, or so, they would be shutting down. She said that he really felt this would happen. So a week would ta...

Re: Are Truckers going on strike??

NCF, no i wasn't saying that you were. I was just wondering if maybe it was to have happened and didn't. Like I said, I wasn't saying that it was going to happen for sure, but that this was what my friend had said , just tonight. Anyway, I was wondering if anyone had heard anything about it.

Good, see if he says the same thing....I couldn't think of any reason, why my friend would not be telling the truth.

Ok, he was told not to come to work on Monday, and they were to shut down their trucks today....this was to be a nation wide thing. Like I said this was what I was told, I guess we will find out soon.

My friend says that he was called while on the road and was told that it would happen...told me to stock up on stuff!!! Well this girl is stocking up on Toliet paper and soap!!! Re: The Huddle House has reopened in Portsmouth...

I went to the Huddle house right before it closed. When we walked in, it took 15 mins to get a waiter to come out and give us a menu. Then another 15 to get them to come back to take our order. They stayed in the back all the time. We got our food 45 mins later, and it was good food, but after 45 mi...

Are Truckers going on strike??

A friend, who has been a long time Trucker, has told me to stock up on things as a strike will happen within the next 2 weeks. Now, I am not saying this will happen. I am just asking if anyone else has heard this? Man, this will really put a crunch on us, but the gas prices are going way too high fo...

Re: Oil Prices Rise to All-Time High Near $112 a Barrel

Darn IT!, (NOT THOSE EXACT WORDS) It is really time to start pinching pennies. We aren't going on vacation this year. We bought a 24 ft pool from a friend, and that will be my grandkids vacation!! Myrtle Beach and the gas staions won't be getting my money this year!

Re: What cuts are you making in your driving now

We pretty much stay home. We use to travel to my Mothers in Pike county every Sunday, but I have been there maybe 2 times since Christmas. On the weekends, we stay home. I go to the Grocery and CVS on the same day, so I don't have to make two trips. I have pretty much had cabin fever all winter, but...

I had some nice bass in my pond, but with the lack of rain last year, the pond got very low. I am hoping that they survived.

Re: Anyone Else Planning On Fishing Trips This Season?

Kantucky is right. Now, we fished 4 days at Lake St Clair, and caught many fish, and threw back all but about 6 smallies, that were 12 inches or over, that we caught the last day. Me, myself, I love to eat Crappie sandwiches!!!. Trust me, I seen many fishermen taking in their limit every day, but we...

Re: Anyone Else Planning On Fishing Trips This Season?

I think that in some lakes you can't fish to eat them, but some like Lake St Clair, they have to be at least 12 inches, and of course you have a limit. I just thought some people on here are just pull our legs...if I am wrong then maybe they can tell you other wise.

Re: I just wanted to make

My GGGG Grandfather Mordecai Dunham traveled down through the Mohogahiela (SP?) Valley, from Fayett County PA. To seattle in Jackson co. He was given his land grant because of being a Revolutionary war Vet. They settled there because of the salt licks, but later moved onto Pike Co.
