Re: Rock Hill MS Vs Ironton MS

It's a difficult situation when you have grandsons at both schools.

Re: Coaching Changes for 2018

First of all I don't see where you see very many Ironton posters on this site anymore. Sure there are a few but not many. Back in 2000 when Matt, Brutus and Jesco started this site they came over to Tristate Preps and ask if I would come and join them. Yes back in 2000. Matt asked me the other day i...

Re: Coaching Changes for 2018

While it is true Ironton needs a change in the coaching staff, who fills the void? People claim we need a break from tradition but who from the outside is the best candidate for the position or who would want to come to a program that is down? Believe it or not I got a phone call the other day tell...

Re: Ironton's Coach Lutz Ohio HS football victory record broken

Have the picture hanging in my man cave when Coach Lutz broke the record against Nelsonville York. Also still have the ticket in the picture from the game. 10-23-2009 was the date. Congratulations to Coach France on his accomplishment. He is also principal at Manchester High School.

Re: Coaching Changes for 2018

Bait you know the old saying about a coach is only as good as the people he has around him. When I see a guy like Danny Pride walking the streets, Josh Sands at Coal Grove, Andy Colegrove. Tyler Kratzenberg, Lou Mains and Mark Lutz at Rock Hill, and Mark Lewis at Raceland, I think to myself someone ...

Re: Division IV District Semifinals @Jackson

I'm at a disadvantage on both these games as I have only seen Miller and Glenwood play. If I were to pick a favorite in the Miller Notre Dame game I would have to go with the ladies from Portsmouth. I saw Glenwood play twice this year and I didn't think they had improved over the year. I believe I w...

Re: Ironton(20) @ (38)Gallia Academy

Eventually you run out of "pieces", glue, tape, bubblegum to put the "pieces back together. That is the Problem. IMO. If I replace a leg of a chair, I betcha I am not going to sit in that chair, I will ask my wife to test it out!! LOL The problem I see as an outsider, is a community ...

Re: WEEK 10 --- 4-5 PORTSMOUTH @ 4-5 IRONTON

Senior night at The Tank! The Ironton team that Portsmouth sees might be the team they see the next three years. We'll have to see how the kiddie corp stands up against the Trojans. I'm sure they will give it the old Ironton try. Go Tigers!

Re: WEEK 9 --(4-4) IRONTON @ (3-5) GALLIPOLIS. OVC ACTION.

How can some of you people blame injuries on a coaching staff? The boy that was knocked out, how is that prevented? Does the coach make him slam his face and head into a wall numerous times to condition him from concussions and knocked out? LOL Come on people. It's football, if you play you will ev...

I will follow the teams here in southern Ohio then as they drop out watch the entire State. My favorite part of the year watching the championship games regardless of who is playing.

Re: Fairland (5-3) @ Coal Grove (7-1)

Bait you like to compare games. Well Ironton was in the Fairland game to the very end. In fact Fairland scored the winning touchdown with 3.6 seconds left in the game. And that TD was due to blown coverage in the secondary. Ironton was never in the Coal Grove game. The Hornets completely dominated t...

Re: Fairland (5-3) @ Coal Grove (7-1)

Fairland played a very physical team in Wheelersburg. That one was in the rain. Coal Grove is another very physical team and unless I miss my guess the result will be the same. The Hornets will control the ball, the clock and the score.

Ironton St Joe has been letting Vets in the games free for the last 3 years. Of course they don't have football but they do have soccer and basketball.

Coal Grove has always had trouble with St Joe. This year might prove to be the same way. How could that be, in steps #82 from 32 yards out. Just this man's humble opinion.

Re: OVC WK7 Rock Hill @ Ironton

Rock Hill is very young. Patience is a virtue so have a little. It will happen just take a bit of time. The thing that was remarkable to me was the crowd support. Don't give up on these young kids. They are working hard and will reward you in the end. I think he word is BELIEVE!
