Re: Zach Loveday - Commitment Announcement

Nothing but respect. So few players in SE Ohio have D1 offers and so few in general make the NBA. All that is important at this moment is he worked hard to earn a fully paid education and the honor to play basketball. Big congrats from this fan. Best of Luck this season and in the future.

Re: Enrollment Numbers and Divisions posted for 2020

Beaver Eastern, Paint Valley and Huntington Ross all D4 next year. Also Lucasville Valley And Crooksville Wow. Grandview Heights dropping to D4 as well should make The Regional tougher. Coal Grove back to D3. Zane Trace D3 Westfall D3 Those are the changes I see. That's tough for CG. Not sure where...

Re: 3/12 8:15 Coal Grove vs Hiland

Berlin by around 20... Coal Grove won’t back down but Berlin is just on a different level than D4 teams in SEO. No doubt Hiland is a great program but CG doesn't play a D4 schedule. Playing at Oak Hill, then twice against Portsmouth, Fairland, Ironton, Chesapeake and Gallipolis (once with Loveday) ...

Re: Convo 3-7...8:15...DIV 4...Coal Grove vs Waterford

Great Win Hornets! Congrats to Waterford on a Great season. Team shot well and obviously were well coached. CG's defense forced enough turnovers to make a difference. Music again played Great and Nate Harmon stepped up and hit some big shots/free throws and rebounded well. Good Luck next week and Go...

Re: Greenup County's Gage Hughes

Thanks for the update.
Has to be building great memories.

Growing up we used to go to spring training in Florida and I was in just as much awe over the rookies as the major leaguers.

Re: Greenup County's Gage Hughes

I could care less where he grew up but I would like an update on how he is doing? Rookie ball, single A, town he is playing in? We should be more proud of what he accomplished from oyr area than this rabble.
Keep going for your dream young man.

Re: 2/22 - Ironton (5) vs Oak Hill (4) @ Jackson 8:30

CG played both this year. Neither were impressive shooting teams. OH has size advantage but against CG they didn't utilize it well as Darby was the primary ball handler. CG's defensive pressure (one if their best ganes) was too much for OH. If Ironton has the first half lead the game will be over as...

Oh God. Lock your doors, hide your animals, kiss your children here comes scary Ironton basketball. As always Ironton fans act like they are a professional team. Whatever, It's just Ironton. WOW...….Good luck to CG too lol  😁😁. That did come off a little harsh but someone had to break the pos...

Re: Best defenders in Southeast Ohio

Aaron Music of CG. Leads team in scoring, rebounding and likely assists and steals . He also guards the Best player on every team. Best defender I have seen in the OVC.

Fairland made first 12 shots they took and were 13 out of 14 not counting the end of the half heave.

Re: 2018/19 Portsmouth Trojans

The Coal Grove Hornets continued their dominance of Portsmouth with a lopsided 64-33 win. This was the Trojans poorest effort of the season overall, as the offense, other than Matthew Fraulini, was non-existent. The defense in the 2nd half allowed too many open layups by CG. Coal Grove has now won ...

Re: 2018/19 Coal Grove Hornets

Great Win for the Hornets. Good defensive effort and rebounding. Didn't shoot really well but did all the little things. Great Job by the guards handling the Ironton pressure. Nate Harmon played big on the glass. Would love to see a few JV players step up and provide some minutes. Our trap press cau...

Re: 01/04 Gallia Academy @ Coal Grove

Good game and atmosphere at the Grove last night. Had some chances early thanks to some hot shooting and missed Gallia free throws. McClelland was a killer hitting those 3's. Blouir did a nice job on defense and running the point. Foul trouble for CG hurt. Went around 3:30 at the end of the 2nd quar...

Re: Coal Grove 57 Oak Hill 48 a final ...

Great summation PFLOYD and great added feedback Josh Wheeler. I agree aside from the tenacious defensive effort from McKenzie in the 1st qtr comeback (down 16-2) that Nate Harmon was key to that run as he kept Hammond from dominating the paint as he did early and got a few fouls on him that mattered...

Re: Top 10 Players in the SE District

Looks like the OVC has been excluded from the list. This conference is typically a defensive conference but just because they don't average 18+ a game don't mean they don't have several special players. Here I go trying to remember from last year. Coal Grove: Aaron Music could start for any team in ...
