Re: Lucasville Valley 2015
Just read in Portsmouth's papers website he will continue coaching this year. If I understand correctly, he just resigned from the supplemental positions, but will continue as a volunteer http://portsmouth-dailytimes.com/sports/1658/valleys-rolfe-to-remain-in-coaching-in-2015-16 http://portsmouth-da...

Re: Minford @ South Point week one
South Point will make it closer than most people expect, however Minford still wins by AT LEAST 2 scores. 35-21.

Re: OVC Preview Schedule
I wish ironton fans were as honest as burg fans when it came to how they perceived how the scrimmages went. I've heard that several burgfans describe their scrimmage as not playing well, but tiger fans are saying it was south points Super Bowl and they only had their starters in for a little bit, o...

Re: OVC Preview Schedule
Let's be honest here: if we go by previews to assess the best teams of the OVC, South Point and Chesapeake would be 1 and 2. Ironton is still number 1, and Coal Grove and Chesapeake are second (will be a dandy of a game week 10: whoever has the ball on the last drive will probably win).

Re: THE NEW LOOK OF THE NEW OVC 2015
Let's all be honest with each other here, the OVC is a 10x better basketball conference as opposed to a football conference, possibly one of the best in Southern Ohio. The OVC sent 4 teams to the Convo.
I know this is football, but just stating the fact here LOL

Re: cg vs pleasant
Coal Grove won't be sucking wind in the second quarter unlike recent memory. Other than that, not sure who Pleasant has back. Both teams will probably be going into this game with blinders on.

Re: Coal Grove Football 2015
Great to hear the discipline and conditioning are there! If they could keep the kids from leaving, same with Rock Hill, maybe they could be a force in the OVC. Sure would like to see the level of competition rise in this league. Only 2 kids left, neither one of them were starters. There were 2 inco...

Re: Coal Grove Football 2015
One word can describe my thoughts on this season.. "Optimistic" I think we'll see a lot of good things this season but the schedule is concerning. But I still believe in the grovers and I think coach Kidd will get us in the right direction. Two things help win football games that I've hea...

Re: Coal Grove Football 2015
I did find it funny how the fans started to stand and clap before the final conditioning drill. I (many fans said this as well) have not seen a well-conditioned Coal Grove team in years! This may break the streak! LOLdocw wrote:I thought there was a display of both discipline and conditioning Friday night.

Coal Grove Football 2015
This morning at 12:01am, Coal Grove took the field for the first official practice of the season, with fans in the stands. Watching this practice I walked away impressed. First year coach Brian Kidd has done a fantastic job in instilling belief and more importantly, discipline for his new team. I ex...

Re: Final year of the SEOAL; 3 sport affiliate membership in
From reading that article, it appears the SEOAL will "exist" as a three sport-affiliate conference - boys soccer, girls soccer, and boys tennis - and will exist thanks to affiliate members from the TVC (Athens, Alexander) and OVC (Gallia Academy). For all other sports, including football,...

Re: THE NEW LOOK OF THE NEW OVC 2015
Will be a very competitive game. Two of the best running backs in the area, could be a high scoring ground and pound game, where the better defense and better linemen, wins!Jolly P(irate) wrote:CG over Ironton. :122246You're Tiger Bait wrote:PREDICT THE BIGGEST UPSET IN OVC FOOTBALL THIS YEAR.
