Re: SOC II baseball
My thought is that if there is a year that Waverly wins it, it will be this one. This is a talented team. Of course they have to get by the always loaded burg though.

Re: Eastern pike baseball 2018
Eastern meigs was a rough game. Not the best indicator of their talent. New staff. Key players returning as well as the addition of a few good ballers. Definitely a different team this year. We will see.

Re: Cancellations 12/30/17 post em
Just got home (pike county). Roads are looking much better. Main roads are down to slush or just wet and back roads showing enough asphalt for traction. I doubt it effects the games. Coming home may be a different story if it all freezes solid.

Re: Waverly @ Oak hill
Oak Hill is overrated just like last year!!! lol.. They may beat up on some of these weak teams in our area but they'll be exposed in tourney just like last year...Fairland would kill them...They better be glad fairland moved up a div...If Burg will move holden down low Burg will beat them...Holden...

Re: Looking Ahead To Spring 2018
Probably another SOC for Pirates...and can they extend their district title run? Should be a nice showdown with Waverly. That senior class is the real deal. They are confident ball players and for good reason. They are good. However I have heard rumors trickle in that Howell may stay football exclu...

Re: Looking Ahead To Spring 2018
NY will compete for a league title next year. Sorry but they are gonna need more then Robson...Don't think they have much pitching beyond him and also, All teams have to do is walk him to keep the big base hits from happening and make the others beat you. Just remember this post. Yea I have to agre...

Re: American Legion Baseball vs. Travel Baseball
Travel ball is all about the money for the most part.....If your family doesn't have money your not going to be on team...How many families can afford 1000 to 1500 dollar fee plus tournaments basically every weekend to Cincinatti ,louiville, lex, the smokeys , to the beach.... ends up costing thous...

Re: American Legion Baseball vs. Travel Baseball
Depends on the team. Legion ball seems to be making a comeback. I am glad. Travel ball is full of little Johnnys dad's new team because he didn't play short stop and bat clean up. If some if these travel ball teams truly cut mediocre talent and team downers you can have elite baseball. We do travel ...
Re: SVC 2017
Scioto Valley Youth League is well organized, but let's get real about the coaching. It is "daddy ball." I watched a game the other night that had seven dads in dugout. The thing is that the kids are playing which makes them better despite the coaching. You have that in every rec league, ...

Re: SVC 2017
3rd place (SVC) beats OVC Champ 6-2, while Adena shuts out the other OVC opponent. I'm sorry, but the level of baseball isn't even comparable. Since 2010, the SVC has won 19 District level games in D3 alone (Unioto has won 5 in D2) while the OVC has won 3. If we include the entirity of the SEODAB w...
Re: SVC 2017
Crashdavis if you've been around sports much, especially Baseball, you know comparing scores doesn't mean squat. Those 2 teams you mentioned are probably not the best 2 teams in the OVC. Yeah they won but a couple plays here or there and u have 2 different teams at top I can't believe Gallia tied f...

Re: Conflict of Interest Questions
Enigmaax I catch what you are saying. What I was suggesting is maybe setting a training area that could be used by his players. All players. Instead of charging like they would do at the batters box or an indoor facility. To my understanding there are only a few months when a coach can not coach his...

Wow! Southern must suck! Your name is FH Lancer, I think all of your boys sports combined won 2 games this year. Please keep the word "suck" to yourself. We were on track to win the league this year until the refs decided to screw us overnight every single game Yea. They had a mee...

Re: Conflict of Interest Questions
Sure. That could absolutely be the case. In most cases this is probably accurate. But we are mostly in southern ohio. Or at least rural type areas. I have no doubt some kids just could not afford additional time and really shouldn't have to pay for it with their own coach. Just my opinion. But I ha...

Re: Conflict of Interest Questions
I wouldn't say any of those would be a conflict of interest, but I would say that those would go against helping out your baseball team. Thanks for your response. Maybe, I should explain in more detail my definition of conflict of interest. The possible conflict of interest arises between those pla...
