Re: Anyone Interested?

Thanks, Bigdog.

My guy looked at that scale and said it would be about a 16% pay cut.

Interested, but can't take that hit.

Re: Anyone Interested?

How bad is the payscale in KY?

There is a guy who is interested, but I think his current teaching job pays about $60K, and he can't really afford to to take a cut...

Re: Gallia Academy

You could argue that Brent Saunders and Matt Bokovitz raised the Blue Devils to a level beyond their historical average. The pair won 9 SEOAL titles in 25 years. Gallipolis won 7 SEOAL titles in their other 66 seasons combined. Prior to Bokovitz, the Blue Devils won titles with "super classes&...

Re: Jackson Ironmen Football 2016

How many Saturday games will the IronPeople be playing next fall? It seemed like half the season was played on Saturday this past season.

Excellent hire by the Tornadoes.

We've now seen the end of cattleballs and booby-blocking.

Re: A SERIOUS QUESTION ABOUT THE MAC LEAGUE

Folks talk about bringing jobs to SE Ohio, but what jobs would those be? Extraction industries have run their course. Farming is limited by the geography. Technology jobs follow go to places with multiple research universities close by. Manufacturing goes where transportation gets the raw materials ...

Re: A SERIOUS QUESTION ABOUT THE MAC LEAGUE

There are good coaches in both places. If we blame the difference on "coaching," it allows us to believe there are factors we can change so we can dream of being powerhouses some day, when in fact there's very little -- if anything -- a school can do to improve that stability. The average ...

Re: A SERIOUS QUESTION ABOUT THE MAC LEAGUE

A fellow coach and I looked at this idea a while back and found some interesting facts... 1. The schools may be small-to-mid sized, but they have fairly high population densities. The densities are actually even higher than the numbers suggest because huge tracts of land up there are farms, and that...

Re: Playoffs #7 River Valley @ #2 Zane Trace

Hated to see it end the way it did Friday night.

Also hated hearing the retro-style bi***ing being yelled from some RV fans in the stands Friday when the cards were down for the Raiders. Had hoped that our community had gotten past that.

Re: South Gallia @ Miller

The only way SG wins this game in Butcher Hollow is by throwing 30+ passes.

The SG running game is a joke, and Miller will shut. It. Down.

Re: WK 10: River Valley (7-2) @ Shadyside (3-6)

In the early years at RV, the schedule featured Point Pleasant and Gallipolis... and those were not the strongest teams on the schedule, by far. Ironton. Portsmouth. East Bank WV. Miami Trace. Not a fun start for a nascent program. If memory serves me (Dad was coaching for those teams and my brother...

Re: Jackson 2016 Schedule

Jackson vs. Point Pleasant yielded some great battles in the early 2000s. I would love to see that game played again, especially while Point is trending upward for the foreseeable future.

The Raiders are having a great run.

Interesting point, JimBob.

I think Gallipolis tried the "resume hire" in the 90s. Again, exceptional outcome. LOL.

Pol Pot...

Sarcasm, dude.

I might have heard of Hudl... Somewhere... Wasn't that a series of NFL-themed clothes and stuffed animals marketed towards kids in the 80s. LOL
