Re: Which Team Will Win The SOC 1 this year?
I would imagine that Oak Hill has a pretty good shot at taking the SOC crown this year. Lots of talent coming back down there...

Because they don't want to?
Maybe I will ask Jeff Lanham when I see him sometime over there at Rio...

Re: Oak Hill OAKS 2008
I was told that the Oaks picked up a new coach, one with a Jackson pedigree.
He will make a difference for Oak Hill this year.

Love the POWER G (as you call it). The man who really hooked me on that play called it DRIVE OFF-TACKLE.
That same fellow who I mentioned above also used to say, "When in doubt, WAGGLE!"
Lately, I have also become a strong believer in the ROCKET SWEEP.

Two of the four who have applied for the job teach in the GCLSD.
Both of the other candidates who can be confirmed to have applied teach in the vocational district. At least one of those candidates would be willing to take the RV job w/o having a teaching position in the GCLSD.

Re: Local players playing semi pro ball
Tiger Bait: Obviously you aren't that familiar with semi-pro football. People don't get cut, especially offensive linemen. There is a severe shortage of guys whose bodies are willing to or can take that every-play pounding. By the way, boogerred was a good player. Played beside him for several seaso...

Using 10mike's logic (which I believe is pretty sound), a lot of teams like the Wing-T because it has soooo much flexibility built into it as a system.

Re: Old fashion football
I don't know if coach Davis called his own offense down there at P-East, but I have a lot of respect for the way they have done things offensively the past couple of years. I love that double-wing offense that they have used lately. If nobody minds answering the question, are they doing more of a Hu...

Re: 3.12.08 YOU MAKE THE CALL
Most high school fields don't have scoreboards on both ends or 25-second clocks. It might figure into the way you allow your QB to manage the clock, no?

Re: 3.12.08 YOU MAKE THE CALL
ah, the POLECAT. When I was in college, Hiram College unveiled the polecat just before the end of the second quarter. Of course, our DC called a timeout. In the locker room at halftime, our DC ranted an raved about "that backyard offense sh*t," and then proceeded to spend the entire halfti...

You never knew a good laugh until you heard the friendly way he and Junior Wilson would bicker at each other sitting a scorers table.
A lot of good stories go out of this world with Odie.

Re: 3.12.08 YOU MAKE THE CALL
Let's say two timeouts remaining, clock at your back (this is high school, after all) and the wind in your face.
You choose what kind of offense you have from one of the following:
1. Passing (West Coast)
2. Power Running
3. Wing-T
4. Option
