Re: Aaron jolly - burg

Who has the single season record for Burg? Craft? Lewis?

Jolly has to be getting close.

Not diminishing 100 goals but I believe with a favorable tournament draw he could see another 6-10 depending on the games.

Re: SOC Standings ?

2 years in... 2 in a row... new dynasty taking over SOC 1?

I think Valley will do well once Perry gets established as the head coach.

Congrats to the Flyers as this year was ALL ON THEM!

Re: Soccer Officials

Agreed. For the sake of clarity though are we at football 18 coming down to about the 8 yard line or are we at the top of the penalty box 18 and coming down to the 8? Still depending on the ANGLE, the 10 yards is marked to the goal as the crow flies. Not per hash mark on the field unless its dead on...

Re: Soccer Officials

The beauty of the game today is video evidence. You watch call after call and the disparity. In the end video shows the truth. I'm going to argue against this and not because I want any of my calls being overturned... The beauty of the game is in the spirit of the game. Not video evidence. Angles a...

OHSAA needs a mercy rule for soccer. Game should be stopped once a team goes up by more than 10 goals in second half.*
Kentucky has this rule for sure and I think West Virginia as well... Running clock only helps so much.

Re: Soccer Officials

I was thinking after so many matches there would be a bonus paid. Encourage refs to keep a full schedule. Accountability is also become an issue. Referees are accountable to no one. They can make any calls they want without recourse. Collectively it takes some leadership at the district level. As m...

Re: Soccer Officials

SE District needs a concerted effort for new refs. It’s going to become a money thing. I’d say that keep current pay rate and if they receive good ratings by the coach they get a bonus. If they officiate certain number matches they get bonuses. I think it's a money thing for any official and the di...

Re: Soccer Officials

I know Armstrong pushes out to high school coaches to try and get at least their seniors to get a license. I'm not sure how many he had in class this year... only 3-4 maybe. Learn the other side of the ball, Help control a team, gain a tactical advantage, make some extra cash on a plethora of Junior...

Re: Soccer Season?

I had a couple Chesapeake games both home and away. The away game just said cancelled. The home game said cancelled season. It's a shame. I understand safety and I understand no one really knows the ends and outs of this virus. I personally know 3 people who have been infected so there is something ...

Re: OHSAA Officiating Class

I need to talk to Tim, he may be aware or have to confirm with OHSAA but at one time I knew they offered a discount to students taking the course. So much so that it was only the instructor portion they had to pay. Maybe next year if all this nonsense clears up, we can get a good turn out not just f...

Re: OHSAA Officiating Class

This is the first class I’ve seen in the area. Usually there is one in Chillicothe and one in Athens.

Hopefully we get some numbers and are still able to have the season.

Re: 2019 Season Girls Soccer Scores, Standings & Updates

While a typical girls high school team would not see that many shots, let alone saves... Our area is somewhat unique. Our top tier teams are usually district level teams and our bottom of the barrel teams could be beaten by most u-10 club teams. That being said, when you have that kind of discrepanc...

Re: Junior High Soccer Programs

Most junior high programs at least have a "Club" team that participates and travels around. Portsmouth and Northwest have school affiliated teams and I think South Webster is as well. Wheelersburg and Minford have teams that travel separate from their youth leagues. While it will no doubt ...

Re: The SOC is Crazy this year!

I believe in the instance of the Valley / Minford incident there were literally no other available officials for that game and both coaches agreed to the coverage. At least that's the way it should've been. That being said... anyone who thinks they can do a better job officiating would be more than ...

Playing the wrong positions are most of their problem.

I don't think EB can run with Lynchburg. Too many weapons and more ball control. Hopefully the weather is better for the Saturday matchups though.
