Re: SOC II 2008

It all comes down to coaching, talent, preparation and HEART.

Nothing else matters. There are many 16 year olds that will run right through 18 year olds on the football field.

Re: South Point @ Portsmouth

I honestly think this game will be over at half time south point by 30 no one will stop sp this year I think you have been hanging around certain SP people too long, particuarly mcstephen10. I think the only thing correct in your post is that it will be over by halftime.....Portsmouth in a route. T...

Wow. What a loss. It seems Northwest has had such tragedy the past several years.

Prayers go out to this family and all of the friends.

I played World Tour 3 weeks ago.

Loved it!

Re: Sky Caddie

Make sure that the course(s) you play have downloads for the SkyCaddie before you buy it. I love mine, I play mostly at the Elks I had a problem with mine not showing the correct yardage and jumping to the next hole. I took the battery out for a couple hours and it reprogrammed itself. If you play a...

Re: U.S. Open 2008??

This opens the door for Phil Mickelson to do one of 2 things: 1.) Take advantage and show what he can do 2.) Struggle and fall on his face He is so up and down it is hard to tell......but this is an excellent opportunity for him to really get some momentum. Even if he wins, he has to hear the critic...

Re: Cornhole Benefit Tournament

There will also be a golf scramble set up to help offset some of these medical bills. I will post more information about it once the date is set. I will be meeting with the board of the ICC next month to get the golf scramble set up and hopefully set the date. More info will come out on this after t...

Re: U.S. Open 2008??

Nicklaus knows that Tiger is better than he ever was. Once Tiger passes him for all time major victories, he will admit it if he is still alive. Tiger is one tough individual. The NIKE commerical that has his late father speaking about how Tiger will never meet anyone as mentally tough as he is, is ...

Re: Minford 2008

That's the truth. Just look at Coal Grove. They typically have been big and strong, but they have also been slow and out of shape. It's great to be strong, but you have to know how to use it.[/quote] Very true. However, I think that Coal Grove is going to be very talented this year and I know alot o...

Re: Wheelersburg VS Westfall

The PDT has always coverered primarily PORTSMOUTH sports. It has always been that way, always will. And you dont need to send someone out to cover a game to get a short recap in the newspaper. All they have to do is call the coach, get the stats, crucial plays, etc., and there you go. If you dont li...

Re: Minford Sectional Champs

Maybe they should consider not letting this kid play next year for the greater good of the team if this is the kind of behavior that he consistently displays. Let him know NOW that any more signs of this behavior will justify him not being part of next year's team. More coaches need to put their foo...

Re: Southern vs Ironton St. Joe ... At Valley, District semi.

St Joe should be returning alot of talent next year. They should be good defensively and be solid at the plate. If they cant get 2-3 more pitchers really throwing well during the off season, they could make a deep run next year in D4

Re: Southern vs Ironton St. Joe ... At Valley, District semi.

I think that St. Joe wins this one 5-2. Caleb Blackburn should be on the hill for the Flyers and he will be tough to beat the first 5 innings. If St. Joe can start him on the hill and get a lead, they will be tough to beat. Throw strikes and make them beat you, dont give them any free passes. The pr...

Re: St. Joseph Wins 3rd sectional title in a row

Nice job to the skipper and the kids. Most people dont realize how small St Joe is compared to the schools they play, often having 3 times the amount of boys enrolled at the high school level.

Good luck against Southern......there should be a little animosity here and a little revenge in order.

Bob Sowards, PGA Golfer and former Scioto County resident

I just wanted to throw this out there since there is not enough talk and support for Bob Sowards, who earned his PGA Tour card this year. I believe he has played in 6-8 events on the PGA Tour in 08, and he recently made the cut at the AT&T Classic last week and was in contention until the final ...

yard for the Falcons, with Farmer picking up the win. Minford moves to 22-5 on the season. Nice to see the Ironton coach having a talk with one of his players who showed unsportsmanlike conduct on a few occasions tonight, including throwing his bat after being called out on strikes. Attitude problem...

I dont see them winning many conference games this year. I do see them pulling out 3 wins during the season and having a much stronger year in 2009.
