Re: #2 Trimble vs #7 Peebles - March 3rd

Is that an increase from 15% to 25% or is that just going to be ignored everywhere? That was for professional sports that have much larger facilities. There has been no direction other than must maintain social distance. Many places cannot hold more with social distancing. Look for no change. Thank...

se-alum wrote: Tue Mar 02, 2021 1:40 pm Will they move District Finals to neutral sites like they did the girls?
Yes, and the 25% was just signed by the department of health, could go into effect tomorrow, will be up to individual sites as to what they allow, 15%-25% or somewhere in between.

Re: #2 Trimble vs #7 Peebles - March 3rd

Only 81 tickets available to Peebles for this tilt. Peebles is used to bringing 5 to 7 hundred to a district game, haha! Hope it is on some kind of live stream at the very least. Re: Regionals at SEHS.

After Dewine's announcement last week, there is no more 300 limit. Indoor venues are limited to 25% capacity. Previously, it was 15% or 300, whichever was less. https://coronavirus.ohio.gov/wps/portal/gov/covid-19/resources/news-releases-news-you-can-use/covid-19-update-02-25-21 What is the capacit...

I suppose the East District would prefer to be slotted into the regional harboring the Northeastern part of the state going forward?
LOL, my guess is they would complain about that too.

Re: Regionals at SEHS.

Zanesville high school may have a new field, but they are not the host site. OHSAA uses Gant. Kind of like what they do in Chillicothe and V.A. Memorial Stadium. Gant has been a dump for years They quit using Gant Stadium a few years ago. Regionals are at OU now. Probably not this year

Re: State Tournament At Dayton Arena

What is the seating capacity at the Dayton Arena? With DeWine extending the amount of fans to 25% capacity for indoor sporting events what will that magic number be? Provided he doesn't come up with some weird max amount like 500. 14,000 give or take with the remodel, which added space but lost a f...

Re: Regionals at SEHS.

Teams like Waverly had to travel for years to that shi**hole of a baseball stadium in Zanesville for regionals. That's a pretty good haul! Our first time getting to the Regionals in D2 meant we got to play at that unsafe dump. Super fun. And Stuebenville had to come to Athens, and called and compla...

Re: Regionals at SEHS.

There has to be a neutral site for everyone. Lot of places don’t want to host anymore, but Athens HS for example would be good for most. Athens High School said NO, so did Logan, Jackson, OHIO University and many others that have any size that would allow as many fans to watch as possible. It’s not...

Unless you have a child/grandchild playing it doesn't matter that you're only 15 minutes away you could be 5 hours away. The only way that it'll be available is online. And on that topic the home team always provided the link for these basketball games. Who will have the rights to these regional ga...

Talk to your governor and state health department. Like it or not, they have been very consistent on their rulings towards this.

Re: Convo Tourney time

Pfloyd, the powers that be are not moving the games in the future, this year is simply a matter of University policy and simple economics. Despite what folks say about it being all about the money, cost have to be covered and that cost is about 40% of gross revenue and even if the Convo would be ope...

Yeah...have Tom Glasscock drive the bus, he knows where it’s at. Remember when Athens girls defeated Jackson at SE high school? Man, that was awesome. Lol Doseck was a tremendous player. Athens girls still getting it done I assume? Didn’t Athens win twice when it mattered? Asking for a friend.

How do you get that? For decades it’s been called the SE Regional, not the East Regional! Next year it will be back in Athens where it belongs.

The point of this post is simply if it’s truly about letting the kids play Ohio has led the way. Because if you look at the distichs over half the states have not been as engaged as we are and making a season happen.

I know the OHSAA takes a lot of flak and the State of Ohio has too during this pandemic, but I’d like to present to everyone some basic facts of how hard the OHSAA and the state of Ohio have worked to make a season happen. Ohio is one of only 19 states that have went forward with the opportunity pla...

Where will these games be played, high seed hosts for how long? With higher seeds hosting, coupled with schools everywhere having less gate revenue in the regular season, I'm surprised the SEDAB didn't make a rule for this year to stop seeding after a certain number and instead pair games where the...
