Re: IRONTON/WHEELERSBURG. WEEK 1.
Even though I think the Tigers will win this one, it will be because of players, Coach W will be fine....Lutz lost several years ago to a first year head coach at Jackson, so if the Tigers don't pull this off, it won't be a first. I am sure tigerfodder i mean cannon remembers that. Black your just ...

I'll take that bet. West over Portsmouth in a great game. The other two West will win handily.

Re: Portsmouth West
I'm sure they were not asked. Some think football is a year around sport on the west side. That is why some of the kids did not come out this season. I was told they feel like its a job and that all the fun and enjoyment has been taken out of it. Right or wrong, football is a year around sport if y...

Re: SOC II 2008
How would you rank your teams potential compared to last year. Minford, Wheelersburg and Waverly all lost alot of really good experience. Winning experience. Thats hard to replace. I may be wrong, but from what I've seen seen so far this West would've competed for the title last year. They are light...

Re: Portsmouth West
I think its great myself that these boys are committed and the rest of the SOC II better watch out. Coach has tapped into all that potential that West has always had. Their disciplined, focused, and ready to play. We have the horses to make a playoff run this year. Very few Region 19 teams will be a...

Re: Portsmouth West
All I know is all the players expected to play are there and I've never seen them so focused while looking like their having fun. I know of a couple kids whom didn't play, but that was more for driving go carts than anything. If it did happen, I see no problem with asking kids to be committed to the...

Re: IRONTON/WHEELERSBURG. WEEK 1.
I played everything but kick/kick return and never really got tired until late 4th quarter and i am in no way shape or form in as good a shape as those 3 d-lineman u r referring to. May be true. But you also won convincingly last year, so you must have had the ball a majority of the time and the mo...

Re: IRONTON/WHEELERSBURG. WEEK 1.
I never saw last years game but did see burg 3 times. Burg lost alot of skilled players from last year that could really stretch the field and a good throwing QB. Lang, who is a really good athlete, made hay last year by coming in and running the option or vear (sp?) because the defense was tired an...

Sounds like he's learned from his mistakes. Too bad he quit football, he was a beast.

Re: South Point @ Portsmouth
Another factor in this game will be Portsmouth at West the next week. West plays Fairland and as usual we will try to get through that game without showing all our stuff. Same for Portsmouth. After Clifford watches us scrimmage, he will know that they have to be ready come week 2.

Re: Realistic Expectations of your Team?
For the first time since 2002 West has a bunch of talented experienced seniors combined with 3 other classes of talented kids. Looking at our schedule, I see no way we go worse than 7-3 and if the line jells, we have a great shot at a perfect regular season and maybe the region. Few teams are going ...

Re: SOC II 2008
IMO it is much better for kids to be as old as possible when they graduate. Maturity level not only in sports, but more important in life is higher. Seen smart kids graduate young and go off to college only to due worse than they were capable of. Some kids can handle it, others can't.

That's great and Burg is good at football. But why the attitude on a forum that is all opinions and doesn't matter to a hell of beans?

Re: SOC II 2008
Maybe west has all of this talent. BUT. When there losing by a touchdown or two. Do they have the players or PLAYER that will take leadership to his team and convince them not to give up? or will it be one of those things where they begin to fight amongst them selfs. Always have to ask yourself tha...

.... wheelersburg didnt lose alot of talent that isnt being replaced sooo....coming from me, one of the 3 first team all-ohio players wheelersburg had last year.... Don't sell yourself short...I'd say you lost ALOT of talent...it's not everyday you find someone that can type and pound their chest a...

Re: SOC II 2008
Well your basing your opinion on what you saw last year and I'm basing my opinion on what I saw yesterday. We lost by 3 points to eventual tournament winner Groveport Madison whom is Divison 1 and has great athletes that play 1 way. Even more impressive to me is that several of our kids doing it are...

Re: SOC II 2008
From what I saw at the passing tournament today, I'd have a hard time believing that there is a better group of athletes in our league than us. If our line comes together, I truly believe that West is gonna be tough to handle.

Re: 7on7 Passing Challenge @ Nelsonville-York - SCHEDULE POSTED
As a West fan, I came away from this feeling very good about about our chances this year. I think we had the best team there or at least the second best as we only lost to Groveport who won it by three. We made a couple mistakes and dropped a couple sure TD's. West has the best group of skill kids i...

What is the best way to get there from West Portsmouth? I guess 32 to 50 east, then what? thanks
