Re: 2023 Ironton Tigers

Are the rumors true that Ironton is trying to get Kirtland and/or Marion Local on the schedule? Or is Ironton still scared to play those teams? I would say the top 3 teams in southern Ohio don’t fear anyone. Ironton, Burg and Jackson. Irontons JV schedule has a tougher schedule than 90% of the team...

Re: 2023 Football Division/Region Assignments

https://www.ohsaa.org/news-media/articles/ohsaa-announces-2023-football-divisions-and-regions Some noteable moves: Dover down to d3 Sheridan, and Jonathan Alder down to d4. New Lexington down to d5 Garaway down to d6, and Newark Catholic up to d6 both join R23. Marion Local down to d7 So ML wins th...

Re: Fort Frye in the afterlife…

I find it hard to believe that Walsh was that important to FF. A friend of mine knows him well and said he’s not real swift. If he is as good as you say why would he take the job at Belpre?

Re: Belpre football

Belpre should immediately start having success. Word is they have 50 players showing interest and that doesn’t count the one’s planning to move in from other area schools. With that many players and the coach that was leading the Fort Frye program at the helm they should become an immediate contend...

Re: Nelsonville-York’s New Turf

Ha, ha nope not any time soon. Maybe after Rusty leaves. He owns Phil right now. Didnt Rusty call all the plays when he coached with Phil? Seems like Phil would know how he operates. It hasn't been the same since Rusty left. He called the offense and the defense those years we went to Canton. Now w...

Pretty sure no one is afraid of RV. We just don’t want that drive anymore. But it’s clear that they are afraid of the TVC Ohio Division teams.

Re: 2023 TVC League projections?

We’ll see come May. I have serious doubts about Meigs. Especially coaching wise. They really should just close the school if they don’t get rid of him. It would be better than watching the crap shoot they have on the diamond Are they actually closing the school?? What are they gonna do, split up th...

Re: TVC Hocking votes NO on River Valley

If six of the ‘no’ votes are all of the Hocking division schools, for what reason is the tie-breaking vote cast by an Ohio division school? This would affect both divisions so both rightfully get to vote on it. But it is my understanding that it takes more than just a simple majority so there was n...

Re: 2023 TRI-VALLEY CONFERENCE-OHIO SCHEDULES

From what I have heard, River Valley's attempted to move to Hocking was voted NO by one vote. 7-6. WOW! That’s great news. We just got rid of South Gallia. Why in he11 would we want to add RV and another ridiculously awful road trip? And if I’m not mistaken it’s takes more than just a simple majori...

Yes and we just got rid of that gawd awful trip to SG so no way we were going to let the Ohio Division to saddle us with another one.

Re: Federal Hocking vs Berlin Hiland - 6PM

Obviously, a bad call or two, or certainly a bunch of them, especially late, can affect the game. But I would maintain they don't determine the outcome. It's a simple math thing. There are 10 players on the court, 2 coaches, and 3 refs. The refs in a typical game, let's pick a big number, make 75 a...

Re: Federal Hocking vs Berlin Hiland - 6PM

Blame the refs. SAD. Take responsibility. Move on. Pick up NEXT YEAR. VERY SAD. BOO HOO So you blaming the players? No one blamed anyone. Just saying all three, coaches, players and refs, have an affect on the outcome of the game. Last I checked players and/or coaches lose games. There are no outsi...

Re: Federal Hocking vs Berlin Hiland - 6PM

Well, I'm a former whiner when it comes to officiating. You might be interested to know what caused the "former" to occur. In 2010 I'm sitting at halfcourt of the Schott a few rows up watching the Hiland girls play Harvest Prep for a state championship. Hiland is down 2 with about 30 sec ...

Re: Federal Hocking vs Berlin Hiland - 6PM

Nice story. Glad for you that you’ve been resurrected. Two points I disagree with you on. First, some refs do care who wins the game. In fact truth be known it’s probably many. Not to say they all are affected by that as far as how they call the game. But they do care for various reasons. Secondly,...

Not surprised by your response. I’ve never heard of anyone who’s team won a game agree that the refs were the reason or a reason why they won. Well, I'm a former whiner when it comes to officiating. You might be interested to know what caused the "former" to occur. In 2010 I'm sitting at ...
