Re: Ohio Valley Premier League
Announcements will be made this week, according to the website.
League is up to 10 teams. https://ovplsoccer.com/
Any talks of the southeastern Ohio area adding a team or more? Could be interesting to get Shawnee State involved.

Re: Middle School Soccer
Problem is, this area also still has many many ADs who still dont want soccer at all, so getting them to add soccer as a spring sport for JH would be tough. If there's enough movement for it, it's possible. It's starting to gain more traction in northern Kentucky right now (it already exists in Lex...

Re: Middle School Soccer
the cheaper part is good, but if I had a daughter at that age, id want her getting the coaching and better level of competition, she could get from the club level. I coached MS soccer at FU for one year, and that was after 9 years of coaching HS soccer, and I would definitely encourage kids to play...

Re: Middle School Soccer
Has anyone considered trying to add middle school in the spring? Several Kentucky schools have done that, mainly in the Lexington area. It offers a cheaper alternative to club. To me, it's also a bigger benefit because now those 8th graders will be a little sharper for fall HS when they've spent a f...

The MVL will be expanding for 2020-21 season. Coshocton, Meadowbrook, and River View will be entering the League. Coshocton and River View both have boys and girls soccer.

Re: 2018 Soccer Season
Sheridan will be fielding a boys and girls team.
They will not be playing in the MVL this year, but will have most of the MVL teams on their schedule. I have yet to see a full schedule for their programs.

Re: Regular Season OT
I would prefer they do away with OT in HS and college. Season is way to short to add more minutes. Wear and tear is absurd. This season, my [college] guys went into 4+ OT games with 3 going full time (other went 16 minutes of the 20). That added almost another full game to our regular season. That's...

Re: Offside Rule Revised in High School Soccer
So now an offensive player who runs past the defense too soon can be bailed out if the defender reaches out and touches the ball and it still goes through. No. Deflections by a defender are still offside. This rule affects those instances where a defender CAN play a ball cleanly, but fails to. This...

Re: John Glenn vs Vinton County (Sweet 16)
This article said he was 2nd team All State for Division 2, and scored 56 goals in 2 years. Not sure if that makes him a Division 1 recruit, but those are some impressive numbers. http://www.daily-jeff.com/local%20sports/2015/11/22/trio-of-john-glenn-soccer-standouts-land-all-ohio-honors I don't wa...
