2023 Start Up
This thread has become D-E-A-D. Softball in Southern Ohio has a lot to be excited about. I’ll start a thread for fun. Is this the year of Burg dominance? Short answer is yes. I see 2-3 potential All-State players on the roster. They have pitching, they have power and they have speed. I don’t see any...

2022 Tournament Run Teams Summary
What an exciting 2022 season of softball. While this forum was a bit quite, the teams around the area were not. Congratulations to the State Champion Wheelersburg Pirates. Congratulations to the other teams that advanced deep into the playoffs. Below is a brief summary. SOC II - The SOC II was proba...

Re: 2022 OVC Thread, scores, standings and schedules... post all year.
Part of the the equation to winning is staying healthy. There’s been a lot of teams using pitchers in pointless innings of games the last several years. With these pitchers throwing a fall travel season, HS season, summer travel season and lessons and side work all year long its no surprise their bo...

Re: Game cancellation….question
West canceled both the first and second contests vs Portsmouth in order to practice. Guess we will have to wait until the post season to possibly see this game happen.

Re: Any Sept 1st offers of note ?
Observations alone is there is DI talent in this region and around this county and surrounding. Now, Power 5 conference talent is limited. But smaller DI talent is here. Is it better to commit to a DI (or DII) school with a 40-50% scholarship offer or look at an NAIA school with money stacked to whe...

Re: Ironton 2022
Ironton will have tough pitching no question. Moore is a proven pitcher and there is no reason to think her senior year that will change. I believe after that, they are like most other teams and will struggle at times to score runs or have rough games on defense. Wheelersburg will hit the reload but...

Re: 2021 Softball Signings
Shawnee made a good hire , the former assistant from Lindsey Wilson is a good guy and a hard worker -- he knows how to recruit to win. They will be looking to be a player in the Mid South conference but that conference is the best NAIA conference in America -- easily . Its extremely difficult to re...

Re: Head Coach Vacancy
Did Rock Hill let their Coach go our did she just not come back? I have a feeling they probably felt like they have underperformed given they expectations they had of this group as they came up. Most fans and parents don't understand Little League success doesn't always equal Varsity success. Coal ...

Re: Head Coach Vacancy
The Rock Hill job would be great place to coach from a facilities standpoint. Young coaches should look at any open teaching jobs in this district. There’s a strong connection between RH high school and their LL program. It could be a great relationship that could help serve as a strong feeder syste...

Re: SOC 1 Predictions
IMO Player of the Year means you were the VERY best player in that conference all year long. It’s not the Person of the Year award or Pitcher of the Year Award or Utility Player of the Year Award. It’s an award for the player that hit for the best hitting numbers, pitched their team to wins on mainl...

2021 Season Summary From the Stands and Online Games
2021 Regular Season SOC II Wheelersburg: Probably the strongest team in the area with big bats in Eaton and Hughes. Solid youthful pitching in Howard that will carry them for a while. Several younger players that know how to play the game. Tough loss this year with the shortstop Eller. South Webster...

Re: Head Coach Vacancy
I’d hate to see this post to go off the rails. I’ll try and dial it back in since this softball forum is almost dead and any post(s) is better than no post(s). There is a literally only a handful of teams in this region capable of making it out of districts at the current time. The ones that can hav...

Re: Head Coach Vacancy
These school districts should understand that quality coaches aren’t lining up to apply for these jobs. A few of the open jobs (baseball and softball) had teams that were actually relevant this season. It’s sad to see board members let disgruntled parents make their decisions for them. Some of these...
