Re: Monroe Central
Agree MC by more than 12. The bishops haven’t beaten a good team this year and got worked pretty good by Martins Ferry. Mason does a good job of limiting the teams top scorers. There is no one to stop Howell on this team. They will try and slow down the tempo but will get abused inside. MC is in a d...

Re: Scoring 1000 points-Is it that hard to achieve anymore?
It’s easier at a smaller school also. Hard to get in the lineup and harder to score on and against perineal power teams. If you are solid you will start as a freshman at a d4 schoo and sit at a d1 or d2 school. A lot of kids pad their numbers playing against kids who would be on the bench elsewhere....

I like that matchup. It would be fun to watch. Also excited to see MC against Ferry.

Re: Monroe Central
MC is legit. Very well coached and a lot of offensive action to deal with. Howell is really good and can really dominate inside and they are defensively sound. The seminoles won’t be challenged much until Ferry. Brooke has a tough opening schedule and are also pretty good but they had difficulty wit...

Re: 12th Annual Caldwell Redskin Varsity Boys Shoot-out June 25th!
Lot of good basketball to see this weekend and I'm looking forward to it. Marietta, Trimble, Hiland looked legit playing tight games against Meadowbrook. Sheridan and Meadowbrook are playing new kids it looks like and trying to find there way. They both played man the entire time and we're working o...

I'll be at this one. Marietta shootout didn't show a lot. Too many kids out too early in the summer.

Re: 12th Annual Caldwell Redskin Varsity Boys Shoot-out June 25th!
I have watched John Glenn and Buckeye Trail play a few times this summer and know a little about Cambridge. That is the only input I can provide. John Glenn is going to be pretty good this year. They have size, some speed and shoot the ball well. They are well coached and have a good mix of experien...

Re: Marietta College Shootout June 4
Maysville will be the big school MVL favorite I would think, they have everyone coming back including the big school POY. Tri Valley and Sheridan will be right there. I think the small school will be wide open this year. Defending champ Meadowbrook lost all 5 starters including All Ohio Singleton to...

Re: Marietta College Shootout June 4
Parkersburg south, Fairfield Christian, Monroe Central , Whitehall also that I know this weekend. This early June shootout is really hit and miss but used as a talent eval for coaches on young players. Different schools seem to commit more or less to it plus kids are playing legion or hitting vacati...

Re: North South All Star Game Friday Ohio D1-D4
Congrats to both of these guys. Marietta is good school for Jake being a top D3 nationally and local and Trey signing at Rio is super smart on his part. NAIA has a deceptive amount of $ for athletics as opposed to a lot of D3 schools that need to manipulate academic funds for athletes without athlet...

Re: North South All Star Game Friday Ohio D1-D4
I ended up going. The kid from Olentangy (Davis) was player of the game with 38. He is a Toledo recruit 6'5 shooter. Jones from Gahanna was the most impressive (Marquette) with several threes and numerous dunks. Singleton had 20 over a dozen assists. Sallee had a couple threes and some inside work.M...

North South All Star Game Friday Ohio D1-D4
A few locals here Robertson, Singleton and Sallee along with the big names (Sincere Harris Akron St V). Heck of an honor. Friday at Olentangy Liberty High School.

Re: Trey Robertson Class of 2022
Parents, coaches and kids looking down on D2 and NAIA offers may find themselves lacking. As mentioned before the transfer portal is a critical element now. Colleges recruit up and down the college spectrum looking for talent scouring the D3-D1 kids and HS recruits are now taking a back seat. If you...

Re: REGIONAL FINAL: Waverly vs Heath
Yes, split session - D3 game at 1:00.. I’d say reschedule for Sunday if snow postpones it. Not sure what else they have going on at the convo. Agree with this assessment. I felt like the biggest mistake Meadowbrook made was continually getting in half court sets. Press push and take your chances. I...

Re: REGIONAL FINAL: Waverly vs Heath
I think Heath uses an extremely similar game plan tomorrow that they did last night vs Meadowbrook. Waverly and Meadowbrook mirror each other in many ways. Like they did with Singleton I believe Heath face guards Trey and traps/doubles him any chance they get, will see others stepping up to help wh...

Re: REGIONAL FINAL: Waverly vs Heath
If Heath can't beat Meadowbrook by more than 3 points, they are not being Waverly. I disagree. They aren't much different and Heath missed a lot of foul shots and open looks. Without Singleton this game would have been a blowout. Heath beat Waverly with the same team at Waverly's place last year. I...

Re: REGIONAL FINAL: Waverly vs Heath
Copied from Waverly/McClain thread: The things I saw that stood out about Heath was their defense. They are one of the best teams I've seen at switching on screens and playing help. The switches also never give you a worse defender since everyone is either big, fast or both. Obviously their size and...

Re: D2 Regional Semi Waverly (1 Seed) vs McClain (2 Seed)
Heath is going to be a really difficult matchup for Waverly with their size. Teams with more than one big do that to many teams. Not sure who guards #35? Heath also has an advantage by playing a team in Meadowbrook that is VERY similar to Waverly. They had a guard that played much like Robertson, s...
