Re: Norm Persin hired at SW
The game has changed more in the last 4 years than it did in the previous 20 His stint at Valley wasn’t successful with better talent and definitely better attitudes than he will have at Webster. Historically he needs a post threat for his offense to work. Didn’t have one at Valley and it showed. Do...

I was told that ship has already sailed and will be running Track for Wheelersburg soon.Pinwheel wrote: Tue Apr 18, 2023 2:09 pm Same question I ask on south Webster thread.
Will everyone stay to play for Jeff ,or will Burg Gain from it like the rumors on the street are saying?

Re: Waverly Basketball - Head Coach
Waverly is not a sought after job playing D2 Basketball and D4 Football. There is a reason Robertson left. Basically last year’s graduation class kept the program afloat for 4 seasons with excitement and production in both sports. Expectations are too high for the talent in the program and level of ...

Re: Coaching Openings
Barrack specifically told them To not join SOC 2 and is the primary reason he moved on. Just like SEO to be afraid of a little competition. Seems to be the cornerstone of their mindset. This is exactly what happened. Barrick told people he would never step foot in Wheelersburg’s Gym again, which wa...

Re: SOC II 2022-23
SOC2. Valley, Webster, Minford, and West return the most players from the better teams. Valley should win it but they have question marks scoring in the paint, defending the paint, and rebounding. You kinda saw as the year went on teams became better at handling their pressure and made them play mor...

I don’t see any great teams in the area next year. Could be the most balanced and average that the area has ever been.

Yes Stuart
Big loss. More of a perimeter player but besides the other Stewart was the only legit size on the floor. The other Stewart can be a force inside but he has issues playing a lot of minutes and gets in foul trouble.

Re: Letter to all- great read, and so true!!
Good post. Couple people hit on the biggest issues I’ve seen. Consistency. If it’s a foul at the beginning it should be at the end of the game too. Referees swallowing their whistles at the end of the game as to not influence game are doing just that. A foul is a foul. The biggest issue I have is al...

Re: Pfloyd's Elite 8 of Southern/SouthEast Ohio-Week#4
For sure, and Buckle hustles and gets you 6-10 a night so with him out, and what you said above…not too bad. Piketon also played Waverly tough in a 2 point loss earlier in the year. Not to be a downer, but Waverly beat Piketon by about 40 in their foundation game Oh wow, I saw a score of a game pla...

Re: 12/10 Waverly at Minford
Like we said Waverly is good but very beatable. They have 1 inside player and their whole offense is about 1 guy. Scoring a bunch of points off pressure defense doesn’t mean you can do that against good teams.

Waverly is good, but they lost games last year. They lost some good players off that team. Reading these comments make them sound unbeatable

Re: Pfloyd's Elite 8 of Southern/SouthEast Ohio - Preseason 2021-22
Thanks PF Webster way to high. Behind Waverly West Minford Valley and possibly Northwest and/or Wheelersburg in the SOCII Portsmouth too low Ironton too high Notre Dame too high although they will win a bunch of games in the SOCI Minford too low West too low Green too low. They are my sleeper team i...

Re: Offseason Rumblings
SWhite2002 - How do you figure that Burg will be middle to bottom of the pack next year? Did you project West as being near the top with Waverly? With losing 9 seniors, and much of their size what makes you sold on them? Interesting... Friend of mine watched them scrimmage Notre Dame before the kid...

Re: Waverly Tigers 2020-2021 Season
Waverly had some significant losses. Robertson is a really good player, but defenses will be able to double him more and get the ball out of his hands more than the last couple years. They’ll battle Minford and West for the league title, but their chance at advancing far in the tournament was last y...

Re: Offseason Rumblings
This is a huge loss for Wheelersburg. He and Swords were the only returning players with experience
If they don’t bring anyone in they are looking at a middle to bottom of the league finish. When is the last time that happened?

Re: Offseason Rumblings
I think this situation provides a refreshing start for this young man. He, especially will be coached by a man who totally understands the game. Having said that, Mr. Collins will place this young man in the right position to utilize his obvious talent and skills. This is a move that helps the play...

Re: Offseason Rumblings
Man valley is in a pickle Yes they are, but they did it to themselves. They had a good coach that came close to going to the convo with a team that had no business doing so and they got rid of him after 2 seasons. Now you have middle school kids transferring to Valley to play basketball for a coach...

Re: Offseason Rumblings
Might not hurt them as much in basketball. They have other players to help shoulder the load. Agreed...it just makes them go from clear-cut favorite in D4 to now one of the co-favorites. However, if others leave to, will depend on who the others are.* Is norm still there? Yes But it has been pretty...
