Burg 24 Wood 14
I watched the replay of wood/ready last night, and I think the wood defensive line will struggle vs burg. I believe burg will effectively run the ball on Ridgewood. Good luck to the Burg!

Re: Week 9 Ironton vs Gallia
Sounds like Gallia has a lot of underclassmen on the team. I would think Gallia should be a lot more competitive over the next couple years.

Re: Week 9 Ironton vs Gallia
enjoy the bus because you won't enjoy the game. Listen, there is no doubt who should win the game. Better coaching, better facilities, better lifting program, 4x as many players, yes Ironton should win, buts stranger things have happened. The Gallia Academy sophomores are 4-1 against the curr...

Re: Week 8: Portsmouth (6-1) @ Fairland (5-1)
After watching both games. I think Portsmouth is good enough to beat Ironton. The only thing that hurts Portsmouth in that game is a good run game. But if Portsmouth spreads Ironton out and the QB takes off with it could be effective. Will be a great game to watch that's for sure. I'm looking forwa...

Re: Can we actually talk about the games?
I think Portsmouth and Fairland are pretty good also. I don't think burg could beat either one of them this year. And if Burg did beat them it would be because “they didn’t play well”….it’s just unfortunate two of the best teams in the area just didn’t have a particularly good game against the Burg...

Re: Week 8: Portsmouth (6-1) @ Fairland (5-1)
I figured portsmouth would win if played on turf, especially on a dry night. But tonight wasn't dry and it wasn't on turf. I wasn't there and didn't watch, but it sounds like the Trojans speed was nullified by a sloppy field ? Is this an accurate assessment ? And my question for dragon fans is: aft...

Re: Can we actually talk about the games?
I agree. I think last night burg could of been 14 points better than Waverly but Waverly held when they had too. I also said ironton isn’t 34points better than burg after the game and got blasted. Waverly could of had done some things differently to help them but I felt like burg could have as well...

We are here to conversate and speculate about local football games. Fans can say well if this and that without it turning into a petty arguement. I agree. Re: Week 8: Wheelersburg vs Waverly
Well I was able to sit back and watch this one at the house and there's several things I walked away with after taking this one in. For as bad as Waverly played in the 1st half offensively they were still only down 3-0 at half, missed FG and a stop on 4th down and this game is possible 13-0 at the ...

Re: Week 8: Wheelersburg vs Waverly
Glad I took this game in tonight. My take on this game is: 1. Burg found a way to win ( and I'm not surprised ) 2. Burg should run the Lattimore Boys a lot more. I'm very puzzled as to why they don't get the ball more often. 3. Waverly offensive play calling was atrocious. 4. Waverly defense played ...

Re: 1992 Ironton v Dupont Box Score
I have 2 sets of records and one says Dunbar in 91 and the other says Dupont in 91. I would say Ironton played Dupont in 91 and 92. One must be a misprint. Dupont at home in 91. At dupont in 92 I workes with Pears Foye. He coached Randy and Eric in grade school & his son played for marshall als...

Re: Fantasy Matchup: Ironton 1992 VS Wheelersburg 2017: Who Wins?
Ironton by 2-3 scores. wheelersburg 2017 was a very good team. But, if they had to play Kirtland or a MAC school, they wouldn't have won the title. They were VERY lucky regarding the teams they DIDN'T have to play. Way to much talent on that (and many other) Ironton teams. Yup. Agree. I think Iront...

Re: Fantasy Matchup: Ironton 1992 VS Wheelersburg 2017: Who Wins?
Ironton 1992 because they were better. Wheelersburg couldn't have stopped that Ironton running game. It was a different time, and I think football was much better in the 90's. It took a loaded Mentor lake catholic to hand them their only loss in 1992. MLC had Joe Jurevicious who was one of the best ...

Re: Week 7 Valley (4-2) at Waverly (5-0)
Valley playing some D. Even if the Tigers pull away, very encouraging! Has impressed me getting stops against them even getting that pick 6 was nice That play has went for a pic 6 twice this year. Just curious, why do they keep running it ? Seems to me the wise thing to do would be eliminate the pl...
