Re: Wk 2- Gallia academy @ Ironton

I am a GA supporter and I think it will be a better game than last year but it is hard to win at The Tank. If GA had a mobile QB they would have a good chance but the QB this year is VERY slow and that gives huge advantage to Ironton. I think Ironton wins by a few scores.

Re: Wk 2- Gallia academy @ Ironton

Big Blue have to match the physicality and intensity of the Tigers, which isnt as easy as flipping the switch but are both a must to compete. Both are a testament to heart and coaching. Also need to eliminate the self inflicted mistakes, mainly unnecessary penalties from last week. Most importantly...

Re: State finlas location question

Little lady I did not ignore your info. I correct you about me, but go ahead and believe as you will. I am sure it makes your day. LOL, calling names does not bother me 1 bit, but you are obviously offended very easily. Again, make educated post that are based on facts and you’d do quite a bit bett...

Re: State finlas location question

they should keep them at the shoe for state championships. centrally located for anyone. can't beat the facilities. I agree 100% I posted in another thread that all the games 2nd round on should be at D-1 schools plus a couple pro stadiums maybe 15 total and that way all the kids get that experienc...

Re: Playoff attendance

🤦🏼‍♂️ Again, Columbus does not want them! It’s really not that hard to figure out! As for teams plying there already there is ONLY 1 possible team that would have played on Tom Benson this year before the final. Only 1 possible, and they have to make it there first. seems to me could have been thes...

Another note from that season ST X and Dublin Coffman played in the crew stadium the following week after that with a very big crowd also but didn't go to that one

Re: Playoff attendance

With the rate the crowds are shrinking at the finals, why not have it played in Central Ohio, at high schools that can hold the crowd. No need to waste money on 20,000 seat or more stadiums. It is sad how poor attendance is in these games. Some other states get more than 20k at regular season games...

Re: Playoff attendance

Personally don’t like games in the Shoe. Canton is great, being in the shadows of the hall of fame. Location.... Put it in the middle of the state so equal distance for everyone. I agree the stadium is very nice in Canton but then comes the other situation I don't think any team should have been ab...

I hope Ironton can pull this one out. Pulling for a river town team to represent in the state. Good luck to all and hope everyone stays injury free.

Re: Week 13 - Ironton (11-1) vs Ridgewood (12-0)

I actually went to that game on Friday it was a barn burner Trimble controlled that whole game just couldn’t finish they had a drive for over 9 minutes and ran out of time at the end of the half. Trimbles qb is an athlete I can’t believe they have him playing quarterback in the offense. I know I wa...

Re: 1992 Ironton v Dupont Box Score

Sam Singleton - running back . Drafted by the Brewers in the 7th round in 1995. Only played one year of minor league baseball before poor choices ended his career. Same class as Moss and Howard. Thanks I couldn't remember his name a lot of good athletes on that team I can remember I couldn't wait t...

Re: 1992 Ironton v Dupont Box Score

They also had another guy who ended up getting drafted in the MLB that would have been a D1 athlete on the football field if he would have chose that path. He may have been a year behind Moss I cant remember. But would have been DB and can not remember where he played on offence

Re: Who is best positioned to join Ironton/Wheelersburg?

I think Gallia Academy Jackson and Waverly are the next level below Ironton and Wheelersburg but none are there yet on a long term level but all three have the ability to be players the next 4 or 5 years in a row

Re: 1992 Ironton v Dupont Box Score

I know Dupont lost 3 or 4 that year but won the state championship in Moss's Soph season. They also won the next state championships as well and prob had the best team in 1993. They had more than just Moss that team was loaded with D1 guys but Ironton had a good group at that time also. Following wo...
