Re: (New) Twin State League
1. Point Plesant usually can compete year after year. 2. Fort Frye has been of late very good and looks to continue. 3. Marietta has been down, but I think that some of that has to do with being in a league they didn't want in, and boys stayed away from sports. Now with a new league it seems they a...

Re: (New) Twin State League
You act as if the teams in the TSL are powerhouses. Other than Fort Frye, who is allegedly “preparing” them for post season play? Point didn’t make the playoffs this year in WV because of their SOS points. Warren and Marietta won’t help you going 4-6/5-5 every year. Better build some consistency of...

Re: (New) Twin State League
0-4 Vs Fort Frye Exactly. They would still be good if they played across the river regularly, but they just aren’t used to having play decent to good teams week in and week out. When they get one, the intensity level is something they aren’t used to. The TSL showed this year all four teams are very...

Re: (New) Twin State League
Williamstown needs to give the TSL a serious look imo. They will be AA starting next year with the four class setup, so they won't be able to load their schedule with a bunch of A schools they can beat by 60. The road to a state title will be more difficult, as well. All local matchups outside of P...

Re: (New) Twin State League
I would think that continuing to build around Marietta/Warren/FF would be best. I really don't know schools in WV around there except for Parkersburg and Williamstown but I would guess there are a few. Maybe Morgan but Cambridge is just too far if you're going to continue to expand south and southw...

Re: (New) Twin State League
Makes sense. If it were me, I'd tell the MVL to pound salt. They had their chance to add Cambridge twice and decided on Coshocton, Meadowbrook and River View instead...yes, River View. The team that left the MVL years earlier to join the ECOL. Meadowbrook, which doesn't have soccer or swimming. I w...

Re: (New) Twin State League
Point couldn’t find WV schools that would schedule them in football. So why would they be able to now? Probably could have something to do with the fact that they aren’t dominant anymore. Drop point, add Athens, Logan and Morgan. Realistic percentage chance of Athens leaving the TVC? I’m saying les...

Re: (New) Twin State League
Cambridge is a possibility..met w/ ADs from TSL yesterday, I like this a lot. How does the potential travel in this league compare to your current league? Buckeye Eight Bellaire, Union Local, St. Clairsville, Cambridge, Harrison Central, Indian Creek, East Liverpool, Beaver Local UL & St. C is ...

Re: Morgan joining the Twin State League? Other expansion?
Fort Frye Morgan Warren Marietta Point Pleasant That’s a fun league. Morgan just can not compete in the bigger mvl. They are welcomed in the TSl same goes with Cambridge. Cambridge met w/ ADs from TSL yesterday. Now that Morgan has decided to stay in MVL, looks like Cambridge is looking elsewhere. ...

Cambridge is a possibility..met w/ ADs from TSL yesterday, I like this a lot. How does the potential travel in this league compare to your current league? Marietta would be the shortest travel time I believe... Only one less than an hour. Point to Cambridge would be a haul. I would say that's prett...

Re: D3 R 11 Marietta @ #4 Jackson
I don't agree that it's "physical or mental abuse", but I do agree that the reason for the 16-team playoff brackets in every region (even in regions with only 17 teams) is strictly due to OHSAA greed. The fact of the matter is that making the playoffs in Ohio means far less than it used t...

Re: Rival: Warren @ Marietta
Nothing questionable about the call, the defender clearly jerked the ball away from the RB at the one yard line. Turnover was huge, not the call. Watched the replay on WTAP. Absolutely missed the call. Warren was robbed a TD, and impacted the final score. Disappointing. What’s disappointing is how ...

Re: Rival: Warren @ Marietta
Tough to see Warren lose another close one. Really felt like this could've been a 6-4 team. Learning how to win close games is part of the process. Can't wait to see them next year Agreed. Had 3-4 games that could’ve easily gone the other way. They didn’t and so it is what it is. I believe next yea...

Re: Rival: Warren @ Marietta
Looking at current grade school enrollment, I'd say Marietta is only a couple of cycles away from dropping to D4. Warren actually has several classes that are a few students larger than Marietta. There are several private schools at the lower grades that account for some of that, but still. It's ha...

Re: Rival: Warren @ Marietta
At what point does Marietta fall to D4 in football? They can't be that much larger than Warren at this point, enrollment seems to continue to decline. Looking at current grade school enrollment, I'd say Marietta is only a couple of cycles away from dropping to D4. Warren actually has several classe...

Not sure what the difference in graduating classes is, but a few years ago it was 30-40 kids I believe. Maybe more some years.

Re: Rival: Warren @ Marietta
To the surprise of no one, this will most likely be another TSL game within a TD either way. Marietta has some good players, no question. Comparing scores from other games is pointless in a rivalry game like this. Personally, I could see it being low scoring. In our defense, this will be the 4th win...
