Re: Shot Clock?
You couldn't of said it any better. If I'm a coach and the best chance of beating this time is to control the tempo and limit their offensive possessions then I'm going to run my offense and run my offense until I get what I want. Like you said, come out and guard. If you sit back and let teams do ...

Re: Tourney games timing
Maybe just me but waiting 10 days for the first round games to play seems a bit excessive…. I can imagine this will be the excuse used when Howie upsets teams in the playoffs. Especially the first two games. That and “the refs cheated us because Howie stomped and stared at them” will be the cry of ...

Re: Shot Clock?
Ten seconds sounds about right. Then Howie could have the Cats use the press so that the other team could only shoot half court shots. Maybe we could just say teams only shoot from half court. We have kids who practice those shots all the time anyway. I could see us dominating in this style of play.

Re: D4 Tournament Thread
I think the coaches got it right this year -- no extreme outliers anywhere and seems fair across the board. In terms of matchups I've really got my eye on (if they were all to get that far, of course): - If Western were to beat Waterford, them vs. Leesburg could possibly be interesting. Western is ...

Re: D4 tournament draw!
my top 8 1. Fairfield 2. SW 3. Federal Hocking 4. PV 5. Green 6. Eastern 7. ND 8. Waterford 6 and 7 could change depending on if ND beats Green and beats St. Joe friday. Eastern has more quality wins then ND (Valley & Burg). 2 and 3 could flip but going with SW just because I think they play ma...

Re: D4 tournament draw!
Lets look at the teams who are legit. Lots of pretenders in that bracket. i expect good things out of Trimble, Fed Hocking, Ironton St Jude, amd maybe one other.
Trimble and Fed are pretty solid. St Jude is a late bloomer and people better not sleep on them.

Re: Shot Clock?
A shot clock would prevent Howie from running that Wheel offense he keeps talking about? Says he wants beat Fed Hock 3-0 in a game this winter.
World Cup
How did they even get this name? Why would you name an event after something that protects peoples cajones? Wouldnt it be better to call it the Kickball Championships?

Re: My friend Coach Matt Combs...
I know a retired guy who sells cars in Glouster who would love to get his hands on this job. He has a state title under his belt in another sport but his first love has always been basketball. Good luck to Coach Combs and good luck to his successor. Thats gonna be a tough act to follow. I thought I...

Re: 2021 TVC Hocking
Hear Trimble hired a parent? What a joke I for one can't wait to see the Lady Cats take the field this year. I'm hearing that much improvement will be made with the program and that they will be back to the top. I hope that is right. How long has it been since Trimble was at the top in softball? Ho...
