Re: SE District DIV II records
Who will get the top seed? New Lex won at Sheridan on the last night of counters and now has the best record at 17-2. Losses are to Tri-Valley and Licking Valley back to back. Sheridan 20-3 suffered back to back losses to Tri-Valley and the New Lex loss. Unioto 18-3 has losses to Zane Trace, Hunting...

Re: MVL Football
I agree that down the road the LCL will have a new look. Watkins is a candidate to return to the OCC and I believe Licking Heights would want in the club as well. I never understood Watkins leaving as they were a force in several sports and competitive in others. Soon they will be too big for their ...

Re: MVL Football
I recently talked to a longtime Crooksville fan and a grad about Cvilles future. I gave him my athletes in cycles pitch but he wasn't buying it. He said the families that made Cville good over the years are pretty much all gone or moved away. Maybe it is time for them to leave the MVL. They can stil...

Re: Maysville vs Alter DII State Championship
Another big win for the Panthers. They have a lot of weapons and face a daunting task in Alder.

Re: Warren 64 Maysville 72 a Regional Final
Good writeup! Like most I only got to see the Maysville half on NFHS but it was certainly impressive. You shoot 61% and lose! A lot of the freethrows were the result of Warren intentionally fouling to get the ball back. Overall, I thought the officiating was pretty good. The MVL should be exciting n...

Re: 3/4 Marietta v New Lexington
A good win for the MVL. New Lex is a gutty team that know how they have to play given their
lack of size. A red hot Warren team will be another tall order.

Re: New Lex vs Miami Trace
I will take your word for it. I didn't have a dog in the race so I am unbiased as it gets, but I initially thought the ball was still in contact with the fingers when buzzer sounded but of you say it was out a split second prior to it sounding then I will believe you I don't either, but I replayed ...

Looks like two common opponents:
Both beat Logan
Both lost to John Glenn

Marietta is the easy pick but this NL team will come to play. They claimed their first league title in 66 years!

It was my understanding they are talking about the Fairgrounds for Central District games like the old days. I think that will happen with seven divisions.

Re: Logan football
The OCC alignment is pretty tough. However, these are mostly the schools that wanted to leave the OCC and form their own league. I don't seem how Logan will do much in football, boy and girls basketball the next few years. Where is Westland and Franklin Heights when you need them!

Brownrigg would be a good fit at Granville a school that has a lot of success the past several years. MVL to Granville has been successful before!

Re: Morgan joining the Twin State League? Other expansion?
Good athletes run in cycles at most smaller schools except the MAC! Crooksville has had its share of outstanding athletes and who is to say it won't happen again in the future.

Re: Morgan joining the Twin State League? Other expansion?
I don't think the MVL will be able to attract any schools from the LCL even though LV and Lakewood are particularly attractive. Cambridge and Buckeye Trail are obvious choices. I am not familiar with the latter's current league. Fairfield Union is a wild card as they currently play some MVL teams bu...

Re: Morgan joining the Twin State League? Other expansion?
TVC should ask Morgan, Crooksville, and New Lex to join in with them if they are looking to expand. After Coshocton and RV leave together, it’s only a matter of time until the other teams start looking elsewhere as the smalls do not want to go back to 1 unified league. Are coshocton and RV looking ...

Re: Morgan joining the Twin State League? Other expansion?
A little trivia. The MVL started in 1938 but took 1943 off due to gas rationing. Some teams played a few games. The New Lex - Philo series was interrupted that year then resumed in 1944 before being interrupted again in 2020. They will resume in 2024.

Re: Morgan joining the Twin State League? Other expansion?
Why would the small schools care about Zanesville joining? Much better trip than any of the others that were added, but would be a big school, so only one game a season against them. No offense to the blue devils, but they are far from a giant in any sport currently. I agree, but old grudges ruled....

Re: Morgan joining the Twin State League? Other expansion?
teach1coach2 can set you straight better than I can. They wanted in but several of the smaller schools squashed the idea, then they opted for the LCL.

Re: Morgan joining the Twin State League? Other expansion?
Jim Rockwell is likely rolling over in his grave that New Lex does not want to play Tri-Valley and Sheridan. Rock would find a way to beat TV and Sheridan but not on a regular basis. Numbers don't lie. I loved the guy even though he once gave me a "F" in Phys Ed. To be fair he gave me an ...
