Re: D3 Tournament Thread
Fairland vs South Point has been moved from Tuesday 6:00 at Jackson to Wednesday at 7:00 in Ironton I assume due to Fairland girls playing regional semi at Zanesville on Tuesday at 6:00 Really surprised that the all knowing governing body agreed to this.. I have no problem with it... but they would...

Re: D3 Tournament Thread
IMO, it was no coincidence that South Point, Fairland, and Portsmouth were all voted into the same district sub-bracket. Nobody outside the OVC wants to face any of those squads in the early rounds. I know s.p. scrimmaged minford preseason.. and it wasn't really close in the pointers favor.... i al...

Re: CURRANT BASKETBALL CLIMATE
I know that having grown up on Waller Street just how prominent that the Bannon Park basketball court was years ago. Used to be as many as 50 kids waiting to play, and there would be games until dark. This court has produced more state champions than any other court in the SE district, but today it...

The old Huntington Field House was a great place for high school and college hoops back in the day.
Agree. Also watched a lot of Golden Gloves boxing there. I'm pretty sure that it was torn down a few years ago.
Torn down in 2012.. marshall soccer complex now stands in its place..

Re: Question for the masses,"Do I need to include Fort Frye/Pt. Pleasant in the rankings?"
Can of worms I say definitely not. Point Pleasant going to play a mess a teams we know nothing about and quite frankly…wrong state. Be doing Williamstown, Parkersburg, Wahama, Russell, Raceland, Ripley WV….Fort Frye….nah wrong district. Amanda would need included. Ripley, Fayetteville, Georgetown. ...

Some good points made by all.......biggdowgg and I have been in person witnesses to the "Club" during the summer. We have watched individual instruction on fundamentals by the coaching staff. Not a one man operation for sure. The sad part is that basically the same 7-10 kids show up. The ...

Re: Portsmouth Trojans 22-23 Basketball
No disrespect to coach Collins or the Trojan faithful.. but things run their course. I'm a huge believer that a program has to be on the same page from the bottom to the top.. youth coaches have to teach way more skills (jump stops, retreat dribble,shooting/passing technique, pivot footwork) and a l...

Re: Portsmouth Trojans 22-23 Basketball
I've posted p.c. /beat around the bush/read between the lines responses on this situation in the past... but jesus... it's the culture.. it's Collin's culture... I think he's a good guy.. but the fact is nearly every opposing coach that faces portsmouth watch enviously as they warm up.. usually a go...

The Peake about where I thought you would have them. Lost to North Adams a good team Beat one of your top team South Point. Lost to Rock Hill by 10 free throws RH shot 18-28 Peake 8-12. Lost to Portsmouth who shot really well. Lost to one of those foreign team a good Spring Valley team. Lost at Sou...

Re: Shakeup for Carter and Perkins commitments?!
This generation of kids are a product of displacement of the family structure more than any previous gen. As a rule, they are a product of generational trauma. As a result of that and their adaptation to coming of age in a tech influenced world, they have developed survival/coping skills. They comp...
