Re: Who will be the next Waverly head coach?
With Dewines budget cuts to a lot of school districts, teaching and admin jobs are scarce in this area. Hard times to find a coach without job openings. Good luck to Waverly finding someone. All the other factors around this program don’t help either.

Re: No Shot-clock? Then It’s Not Really Basketball
One thing I believe gets lost in new rules being applied, is that it is applied to both boys and girls and all the way down to junior high sports! Imagine, trying to get volunteers to run the shot clock at any level. Now imagine a shot clock at a jr high basketball game! Not needed, I have been arou...

Re: JV Girls Basketball?
If a kid enters jr high still shooting from their hip, then a jr high coach or high school coach should be working on their form. We have all high school girls shoot from point blank every day of practice shooting with proper form for 50 shots at least before practice. We constantly remind the girls...

Re: JV Girls Basketball?
I think travel softball is taking more girls away than cheerleading. Also, most schools just don't put girls sports as a priority. But like all other sports, it starts at the lower levels. Have good youth programs and you will most likely have success at the high school level. Girls like cheerleadi...

Re: 2021-2022 SVC
Basketball starts October 29th, through February 14th when Sectionals begin. Thats 3 and half months, plus Thanksgiving and Christmas break. Add in the “non mandatory “ summer requirements, and basketball can last 130 plus days. While the highly motivated kids who love basketball eat this up, it dri...

Piketon returns 4 starters Addie Johnson, Kennidy Jenkins, Jazz Lamerson, Natalie Cooper all juniors, and 2 backups who saw a lot of time last season, Savannah McNelly Sr, and Ali Taylor So. Very athletic group. Also, looking forward to seeing how some incoming freshmen and sophomores will develop t...

Re: SVC 2021
This is absolute embarrassing, Adena baseball cancels the game at their place yesterday because of "threat" of rain! Every other school in the area played, and got there games in! Now, after that downpour we received yesterday and today, Adena is saying that they have an "opportunity&...

Re: Offseason Rumblings
LOL crab! Having spoke with several superintendents and ex board members over my career, I have put together one idea of why BOE's seem to be so involved in extra curricular coaches and advisors. They come into the job thinking that they will set rules and bylaws for the district to operate under, o...

Re: #2 Wheelersburg vs. #3 Eastern Brown 3/5/21 @ Piketon
Does anyone how many ended up watching the stream? Just wanted to make sure Piketon made some money seeing how someone on here told me they are a poor school. By the looks of that football field and gym, I wish Burg was that poor. They put Burg’s gym to shame. That poster is mlittle, a disgruntled ...

This thread is more about the live stream, rather than the game! LOL. After listening to the Piketon game against EB, and paying to watch the Waverly and Burg game at Waverly, I wont make a prediction, but this should be one heck of a game!

Re: D3 District Final 3/5: #1 Fairland vs #4 Adena @ Ironton HS
Hearing Waverly offered to host a Friday district final game, but went with Ironton. Driving distance aside, there is no comparison between these two venues, size wise with new 25% rule, more people could attend at Waverly.
