Re: Best basketball players in your school history

" How about Jeff May who played for Blue Creek? Scored 50 points in a game, among other accomplishments ." Wow, that is a blast from the foggy past of almost 50 years ago. Was not Blue Creek consolidated with Seaman and Franklin to form North Adams? There was some great basketball played i...

Re: GATOR THE OTHER WHITE MEAT-BUCKS GATORS WHO WINS.

Thankfully the season is over. My summary observations: 1.) Thanks are owed to Fickle for manning up and taking on an almost impossible challenge. He did not succeed but he conducted himself as a gentleman. 2.) The available talent was not as good as was thought at the start of the season. Lack of q...

Re: East, Green to square off twice in 2012

Why not? Playing twice is a good way to build a rivalry and diesel fuel ain't cheap theses days. Two games versus the same opponent though rare is not unheard of and we may see more of it as you suggest due to travel costs and scheduling problems. A round robin leauge schedule plus select games as ...

Re: Waverly Stadium Project

I believe the old seating capacity at Radiger Field was 1,970 (pre-pressbox days)
without any temporary seats. Any word on how many seats the new facility will
hold? Home side and eventually visitors side?

Re: NCAA: Bowl ban for OSU in 2012

[quote="seofan_via_dublin"] " The three year probation could affect it a little, because if one guy screws up in 3 years, WE'RE SCREWED!!! " There is the rub. Can Myer afford to operate under a business as usual approach and recruit a five star prospect whose sense of entitlement...

Re: Shot Clock?

" I also like Shaynes idea to make it two 16 minute halves with the shot clock " Maybe some old time Waverly fans can correct me if I am wrong, but I believe back during the 68-69 season the Tigers played a home game against Akron Talmadge and the game feature two sixteen minute halfs and ...

Urban's Destiny at OSU

How will the Buckeyes fare during Urban's first five years? Is OSU at the threshold of a true Golden Era, destined to dominate the national and BIG scene? Will OSU regain competative dominence in the BIG, but fall short on achieving national prominence? Will OSU just become competitive? Fallout from...

Re: The Game! It's OSU/Michigan Week!!!

Upsets do happen, but I see a 1968 in reverse, TSUN 50 TOSU 14. When Hoke is asked we did he go for two on their last score, he replies: "I could not go for three". The Bucks could make a game of it but the players and coaches will probably go through the motions so they can quickly end th...

Re: WV Playoff Travel (Some in Ohio thought they had it bad

#14 Pocahontas County (7-3) vs. #3 Wahama (10-0) Note: They will be coming from the Marlinton/Dunmore (smack dab in the mountains folks) area in WV & via mapquest will have to travel between 218 to 248 miles one way depending on which route they take and it'll take anywhere from 4 to 4 1/2 hr. ...

Re: OSU vs Wisconsin

Wisky is not as athletic as LSU or Bama, but are solid all around.
Bye week for the Bucks will help them get ready and the night game
atmosphere will help the OSU pysche. That said TOSU's only chance
will be for Wisky to self destruct. Wisky will grind out a 31-10 win
pulling away in the second half.

Re: Week 7: OSU @ ILLINOIS

A win is positive whatever the circumstances. Yet I see today's outcome not so much a Buckeye victory but rather Illinois losing due to turnovers. Too me Illinois looked to have more polish and slightly better talent than the Bucks, yet the Illini self destructed. Defense played with heart, but was ...

" As a matter of fact, it might be time to see if tickets are available for the 'Shoe. Go Bucks!" Sounds like you are about my age. Going back to the 1968 NC season, I was able to walk up to the St Johns ticket window on Michigan game day and purchase four A Deck tickets. Under the old SW...

Re: Week 7: OSU @ ILLINOIS

Against 'Braska for 37 minutes OSU played beyond all expectations. Moments of greatness, moments of magic. I realize part of that was "Braska stinking up the field, but OSU displayed the potential for being an eight win team. Even if Miller can go against the Illini, what confidence and unity t...

Re: Week 5: OSU vs MSU 10/01

if pryor doesnt screw the pooch the bucks would be top 3 in the nation. If Tat-Gate had not occurred with the ensuing fallout, OSU would probably be 5-0 at this point but would still not be thought as a serious player on the national scene and in the Conference. The same talent and skill deficienci...

In a pre-season thread I predicted a 7-5 season for the Sucks.
Is it to late to change my vote to 4-8 ??
