I think Piketon understands what's at stake.....I look for a close game....with the Redstreaks pulling it out at the end.

I'm sure Coach Lisath doesn't look past anyone...especially Unioto.....yes it was a tie game with 3 minutes....but they were also up 22 points at one point and went to the bench too early. Southeastern will start winning games with all of their players back....the record doesn't indicate how good th...

Re: D-III Sectional Records

Piketon at 8-3 picked as #5 seed, they already beat #4 seed Adena and will not play them again until after drawing with only one real test prior to the drawing vs Huntington. Schedule is much tougher than #3 seed Lynchburg Clay. Piketon playing Huntington, Northwest, Greenfield, Columbus Mifflin, an...

Tom Barrick of Wheelersburg has 3 state appearances in 12 years, which is very impressive and puts him in elite company statewide, but I still think what Van Matre has done is remarkable. I just don't think that he has had as much talent to work with as Barrick has had. Van Matre also lost 3 region...

Back in the early to middle part of last century, the tournaments were run quite differently. By the middle part of last century: There was a County sectional tournament for the municipal and parochial schools which by 1958 (after a lot of consolidation) was just Notre Dame and New Boston. Those tw...

Hitchens and Kellough without a doubt.... Piketon's freshmen Evan Legg is very impressive in doing what a true "non-scoring" point guard does. Distrubute the ball, doesn't get too many turnovers, makes sound decisions, and plays good defense.

I like this team...they took Westerns best shot and pulled it out. Coach Lisath pulled upsets in the first round the past two years, but came up short in the title game, however this season Piketon came in as the favorite and avoided the upset. I think the coaching staff should get suits like coach ...

Piketon rolled past Eastern 79-36.....the bench played well tonight. Brush, Helton, Robbins, Miller, Daniels and the reserve team seen a lot of action. I wish Coach L. would have let them score 100. Good Luck tomorrow!

Good topic....but a little premature in a sense....Chillicothe will have to win the state title to be compared to a state championship team....just my opinion. I'm a Piketon fan and I enjoy watching coach Lisath flash his two state championship rings....I'm hoping it will rub off on our young Redstr...

Coach Lisath took the press off early in 2nd quarter, and played the bench and reserve players most of the second half.....could have been a lot worse and possible 100 point night if he hadn't called the dogs off.

Two big games for the streaks this week...must wins to stay in the SVC hunt. Schedule has been pretty rough for the young lads, take away the Unioto game and teams they've faced has a combined 20-5 record. Paint Valley has a history of playing them tough and the Streaks lost two very close games to ...

I know you're just talking about Head Coaches that has taken their team to the State, but Piketon's Head Coach Jeff Lisath has won a State Title as a player and Assistant Coach, also was an Assistant Coach with a State Runner-Up team.

I haven't seen ZT, but I did see Piketon's first three games and when they scrimmage Vinton County which Piketon won all three quarters in a tri-scrimmage with North Adams. But you certainly can't compare that to anything, because the SVC games brings out the best in all teams, especially since ZT a...

I thought the game was much closer than it should have been. I was very impressed with the freshman point guard for Piketon. You guys will have a good one there for the next 4 years. His skill for a 9th grader is outstanding. He will be very tough when he gets in the weight room and gets stronger. ...
