Re: 2008-09 Piketon Redstreaks

To be honest. Legg and Brush are the two most talented b-ball prospects that area has seen since Doug Williams. But I don't think they were used like they should have been. it would be better fit for them to transfer to a school that would use these talented player's like they should. It's just my ...

Re: 2008-09 Piketon Redstreaks

I failed to mention Eddie Robbins another returning two year letterman. I'm guessing playing time could possible ruin this team, if the kids can't accept their roles and parents don't mettle. I have yet to see Lisath buckle under parental pressure, however the heat will be turned up in the "ove...

Piketon 08-09

Piketon Redstreaks will be returning four starters and 8 out of their top 10 players from a 15-8 District Semi-Finalist team next season. Led by 6'2 Cody Smith (HM All-Ohio) and 6'3 Jordan Brabson (All-District), follow them up with 6'1 point guard Evan Legg (recently named to Jerry Watson's All-Ohi...

Re: All Ohio Division III and Division IV

Congrats to Cody Smith (Piketon) Special Mention All-Ohio, surprised Jordan Brabson didn't make HM, he basically had the same stats.

Re: District 14 Coaches Association Team

Coaches vote should be made verbally in front of all coaches, so that scratching your back stuff will be seen by others. Not trying to take anything away from the kid, but Gibson should not be on the 1st team. Spradlin was clearly the best player in Div.III SE District.

easy guys...it's too early...The Burg does have experience and a great coach, but tournament time...all kinds of crazy stuff happens on every level. I'm a big Piketon fan and I want to see our boys out there playing their guts out. I don't think Lisath goes for that "locker room material" ...

Good win! Nothing else matters in the tournament....just win! I think the first half was huge, and Piketon didn't fold at the end. Eddie Robbins played his best game of the season off the bench, but I didn't see him in the second half. Keenan Brush sat this one out for disclipline reasons, and I'm t...

I would've taken Brabson over Smith from Piketon, but either way is ok, both are good players. But, the 3rd place team in the league shouldn't get 2 players on 1st team, IMO. I agree....but it should be about who is actually the best players and not who won the league or came in second or coaches n...

I'm sure the Piketon coaching staff is a little worried about this one. I'm told they've scouted every Valley game since the drawing. Valley is scary, but so is Piketon...it really depends on how well Piketon's role players perform. I look for the Streaks to win this, but I don't think it will be ea...

Other than the Huntington game, all of the SVC losses were single digits, and take away the tough Greenfield and Columbus Mifflin games and replace them with cupcakes you have at least a 14-5 season, going into the final game with a chance for second place. The team does have some talent, but not ve...

I agree with your post. I look for Piketon to get on a nice long roll from this point on. They have a chance to make a serious tournament run as well. Just play team basketball and tighten up the defense!

I don't know if it is possible to rig it this well but the SVC had 6 teams @ Waverly and none of them face each other in the first game????.....but of 5 SHL schools 4 of them face a league foe in their first game?....and the only one that doesn't is North Adams who got a horrible #7/#10 draw with Z...

Marginal players at Unioto ? He had the player of the year one of his two seasons. I think he has done a good job anywhere he has coached. Seems like he does not get the chance to stay long enough to see if he can build a consistant winning program. Hopefully he gets the chance at Piketon because t...

It seems to me that every school Lisath has coached at, the programs are in worse shape when he leaves than when he arrived. Look at Unioto, he won with talent that had been developed by Lovely's program. The Chillicothe girls, look where he took that program. They won on Bunstine's talent and noth...

Lisath is still at Piketon, with a very young and talented team. The Redstreaks are 10-4 going into a tough weekend with Huntington and Columbus Mifflin.

Coach Lisath posted a 40-27 record going 27-15 in the SVC, Back to Back 2nd place finshes with a 10-4 league record both years and a Sectional Title...the program was on it's way back up to the top and the rug was pulled. Lovely returned and couldn't find that old Showtime Magic, now Hoops will try ...

Good job! Nice topic, just a few notes....I would put both Chilli and Zanesville at number one and let them slug it out. North Adams is always good, but the league is down this year and their schedule is weak compared to Logan Elm, Greenfield, Chesapeake, Oak Hill, and a couple of tree huggers. I've...

Point well taken, because I haven't seen Ripley, but I have seen Hillsboro and they're way down this year, nevertheless they're a Div.II team. Piketon beat Unioto 64-38, but they will be tournament tested this weekend at Zane Trace and at Ironton, then again next week with Huntington and Columbus Mi...
