Re: Private Schools in the Tournament

Open enrollment does NOT allow kids to go anywhere. There are a few off the wall exceptions, but basically there must be a physical move or sit out one year. Open enrollment will let you go to school at that school, it doesn't allow you be eligible by the OHSAA. By the letter of the law, that is tr...

Re: Private Schools in the Tournament

Yes, this is a can of worms to open, but I don't think private schools should be in the same tournament with public schools. Way too much recruiting done by these schools to make it a fair fight. The argument can be made that public schools these days do the same with open enrollment and kids being ...

So I guess our freshman center this year should just stay home because he won't be able to score inside at all :?:

I think the main thing is that the refs are consistent and let the kids decide the game. Whether they call it close or let them play, the kids are used to this throughout the season and after 3-4 minutes into the game they know how it is going to be called. I feel this is just part of the game and e...

No way is the State Tournament over rated! I will never forget watching the Burg in the final 4 back to back years. A 20-0 season is something to be very proud of, but I think a loss or two somewhere along the way to a good quality team is not necessarily a bad thing to make sure a team stays ground...

hey Eagle fans, don't tell anyone from the 'burg, but heard Belpre was working on breakin off an old Garrett trick...I recall several tournament games in the 90's that Belpre beat/competed with much talented teams by being very, very selective on the offensive end!!! Like holding the ball for 4-5 m...

It was also nice to see what could be the starting 5 in the game the last few minutes. It will be hard losing all the experience of the seniors, but that group of Freshmen and Sophomores will be tough the next couple years as well!

If Smith is not able to play for Minford, then NW should win by 15. Minford was barely able to pull off a win @ South Webster without Smith last week.

Waverly is a tough place to play if they are still filling the house like they typically do. If the Tigers can limit the turnovers and take care of the ball, I think they can pull this one off. Waverly definately need the momentum going into the always tough DII tournament. Oak Hill needs to keep th...

The Burg vs. Portsmouth game in 04 (I think). Burg had trouble moving the ball the whole game and Portsmouth had the ball and the lead late in the 4th and threw a pass from the Burg 10 which was intercepted and ran back to the Portsmouth 10. Burg again couldn't move the ball, but kicked a field goa...

Kochendorfer is a great kid and a good player. He is missed. He is having problems with his foot and I believe he is in a cast. He is a good player....too bad he is injured again. He was out most of last year with a similar or maybe the same injury. Hopefully he gets back later in the year and gets...
