Re: Rger Gray WNXT and Computer Points for West

I have to give the guy credit. If it weren't for Roger Gray, we probably wouldn't have any local sports broadcast. We used to have WPAY, WIOI and WNXT. One after the other dropped covering sports, except for WNXT. Instead of bashing, try living a day in his shoes. He works all year begging for money...

Re: Portsmouth West Football 2014

Now that I'm no longer coaching at Clay, maybe I will apply! Just kidding, I am eager to see who is coaching at West though. I plan on getting my old season tickets back this year and enjoying some Senator Football!

Re: Clay Panther Baseball

pfloyd, I'm sorry to say, but Mr. McCleese is no longer there. But I have occasionally talked to him about things having to do with sports at Clay. I have a ton of respect for him. Koolkoach, I am truly NOT allowed to give out equipment, but have done so. ie, kept scoreboard, brought med kit and mad...

Re: Clay Panther Baseball

At this time we are planning on having enough players to schedule for Junior Varsity. If your school would like to work us into your schedule, please post your school, contact person and possible dates. I will have our AD reply ASAP. Thank you, Coach Roger Compton

Re: Clay Panther Baseball

Thank you so much gentlemen! We are nearly ready to begin conditioning when our gym becomes available, some of the boys are doing their own workouts. Our boosters are making super human efforts to supply us everything needed to succeed. The boys are excited about this season, so it seems all is comi...

Clay Panther Baseball

We are trying to raise funds to purchase wooden bats for our opening weekend wooden bat tournament at Ironton. We have a table set up inside the gymnasium for home basketball games for raffle, or donations. Please come support the basketball teams and help us come up with the necessary funds as we a...

Thanks guys, you are correct on both! I have been attempting to gather the info for our underclass and youth teams, I want them to know our past successes. I really want Clay to progress and compete annually.

Does anyone have the records for Portsmouth Clay for each season they have played? I would appreciate it if someone could send it to me. Thanks in advance!

Re: South Webster @ Clay

As coach at Clay, I have to admit I know very little about soccer. What I do know is that tonight's tie game with South Webster was as big as any win in recent Panther history. It proved to me and I hope our kids and fans we are turning a corner to improving to a competitive soccer program. I am so ...

Prayers for the family of Don Sanford

I have seen him at several games, spoke to him about what else, the kids of the Minford area. I was starting my varsity career in baseball on an emotional high, until now. People like Don are getting fewer and farther between. Too many want to know what's in it for them, not what they can do for you...

Re: clay panthers coach?

so who is mark rose? Ohsaa requires all coaches both paid and volunteer to be certified and hired by the BOE to be covered by insurance. You can not be on the field without a state number verifying certification. Go read ohsaa.org coaching rules I just want to step in here to clear up what my athle...

Re: McDermott Northwest (0-10)

This is a very sad situation. This program has been unable to have/sustain any kind of a winning tradition in over 50 years. Stack on to that the current "Fiscal Caution" status that the school district is currently scrambling to get out of to aviod the Ohio Department Of Education taking...

Re: Volunteer Coaches

I volunteered for two years. As a college student, yes it was tough to find the funds to receive the necessary certification. But, I wanted to coach, so I made it work. Maybe you drive less if possible and save on gas. Maybe you eat out less. It doesnt matter how you do it, you do it. If your passi...
