Re: Is basketball getting to physical?

What about boxing out? You going to take that away because it is a physical part of the game? It is physical down in the paint, more so then around the arc. Both players trying to get position, and there are elbows thrown, jersey's held, etc. It is a part of the game.

Ok, I follow.

I do think the OVC now is not very good. Agree or disagree?

Basketball is physical, and it should be. Michael Jordan was a physical player. I agree, evolution of the game. Let them play!

Re: The Panthers edition of 2009

I think South Point will be pretty good. They are very well coached, and you will not see them drop off much. Chesapeake does have the potential to have a good line. They are also very well coached on the offensive line, but they are pretty young at key positions. Brad Pike and Jake Wells will both ...

Re: OVC '09

I, nor anyone else, is arguing how good Coal Grove's playoff run v. Chesapeake's is. I am only pointing out that fuzzhead's statements about the wins by Chesapeake were nothing special are inaccurate. Chesapeake has lost to Amanda twice (both state title teams), Wheelersburg (state-semi), and Lickin...

Re: Thanks for the memories...

I don't need to explain my thoughts, feeling or errors. No, but you can call other people out on theirs and not expect a reaction or response? A very intelligent remark. If you want respect, than earn it Earn respect? I have many different endeavors in which I earn respect. Respect is earned throug...

Re: OVC '09

Again, You're going by OVC standards which are nothing special. Coal Grove has been to two state semifinals but that was back when fewer teams went to the playoffs I do not understand what you are implying. Chesapeake lost a single OVC game from 1998 untill 2004. That is something that your great 8...

Re: OVC '09

I agree with your comments for the most part. I knew many of the football players and for the most part they were good people. They were not arrogant like you described, but I am sure there were posters who thought they could gloat at the expense of their success. but for the most part they were not...

Re: I've Just About Had It II

That is a good point. The real problem is the way the NBA contracts are consturcted. If the players union would make asl the league for the rookie contracts to be based on production, then this would not be a problem. If someone is good enough to make a living in the NBA at 18, they should be able t...

Re: OVC '09

I am tired of hearing this kid can bench this much, blah blah. The difference between Chesapeake and say CG in the late 90's into the 2000's was that CG trained to be big and slow, Chesapeake trained for speed. How many times did CG win lifting meets during that stretch? How many OVC titles? Exactly...

Re: Best Programs in Southeastern Ohio

How long do these schools have to be good to be considered a top program?

Coal Grove was very good for a long time.

Chesapeake was very good from 1996-2005 (7 OVC titles, 7 playoff appearances, 1 undefeated regular season, 1 regional finals appearance).

Re: Thanks for the memories...

I am only argumentative when I feel that someone is describing something/someone inaccurately, or they are being hypocritical. There is a huge difference in the way I post and peake does. I merely question motives. Peake would flat out call you an idiot from the posts I have read. I feel no need to ...

Re: Thanks for the memories...

This thread was dead from the moment people starting insulting someone saying goodbye. Some people do not have enough class to be the bigger person and politely walk away. Here is a good example of being mature. Well, believe it or not but you were the first one I posted a reply too! I know I gnawed...
