Re: Waverly Vs Chesapeake

Fan is short for fanatic just so you know. Show me where I have said one ill word about a single player. We are 1-2, I will be critical of the coaching staff because ultimately they are responsible. If every person who says something critical about their own program is not a supporter, you would hav...

Re: ROCKHILL @ CHESAPEAKE

I think Chesapeake will use their size to grind down the Redmen. I expect big games from Saunders, McMasters, and Kennedy.

Re: Waverly Vs Chesapeake

I back up my points, the key to good debates. I appreciate everyones insight. I will draw my own conclusion. I am a supporter of Chesapeake Basketball and always will be. I will be objective in my observations and give praise when deserved and criticism when called for. The thing I understand as a f...

Re: Waverly Vs Chesapeake

I have no ax to grind. I love Chesapeake Basketball, but no person, player, or coach is above the program. I think Coach Davis is a good coach, but I am a little concerned that we are 1-2 at the moment. I have a lot of respect for Coach Lafon at Ironton, but the team they have now is not a great tea...

Re: Waverly Vs Chesapeake

Like I said, I am not going to apologize for having high expectations. The bar was set high before Persin came, and now it has been set even higher. Chesapeake has always been a quality basketball program. Chesapeake lost one year after going 20-0 and being ranked #1. I believe they lost to Belpre w...

Re: Waverly Vs Chesapeake

Are you implying that going to the regionals on a regular basis is not a big accomplishment? Chesapeake was regularly in the state top 10 and winning 18, 19, 20 games a year in the regular season. I am not going to apologize for having high expectations. Persin took over a program that was awful and...

Re: All Time OVC Team

Sam Huff and Robbie Issacs are in two different classes. Sam was a very good athlete and a good wideout, but was not even close to the athlete that Issacs was. Issacs was bigger, faster, stronger, jump higher. There is a reason Issacs was recruited by the big boys and Sam was not. Sam was a very goo...

Re: All Time OVC Team

I have no clue how fast Hall was but according to your trck board he is not faster then Dusty. I have not seen anyone faster then Issacs, and that is not because he is from Chespapeake, just have not seen it. He was offered a track scholarship from every school in the country. There have been some f...

Re: Waverly Vs Chesapeake

Please do not lecture me on Chesapeake Basketball. I went there and had the honor of playing for Norm. When Norm left he also graduated a class that had went to three straight regionals and his best player coming back (Tyler Shoemaker) transfered to Ironton because the superintendent decided to hire...

Re: Waverly Vs Chesapeake

There is nothing wrong with being critical when the occassion calls for it. I do support my team and I have been to every game this season, but I do get tired of hearing how great our coaching staff is when the best this staff has done in the past is a district semi-final and now we are 1-2. I think...

When your Chesapeake there is shame in losing period. I am not trying to be a jerk, but that is how we were taught under Persin.

Re: Waverly Vs Chesapeake

Wheelersburg has nothing to complain about. The refs did not make them turn it over 30 times against Chesapeake, not to mention that two Chesapeake players fouled out. I am really disappointed with this team. I do not know if it is coaching or just Chesapeake not executing, but with the talent they ...

Re: All Time OVC Team

Here is my two cents. I have watched Chesapeake football since I was 5 and these are the best guys I can remember. Quarterback-1. Andy Clark- He was everything you could want in a QB. He could throw it, accurate, was a much better athlete then people give him credit for, and was extremely smart. I r...

Re: Wheelersburg vs Chesapeake!!!!! Saturday, December 5th

I meant no disrespect to the Burg. They are a fine team, but I have seen my share of Wheelersburg teams and this one is not the same caliber as teams past. They will always be a very strong team, but you should really dial back expectations for this team. I could be way off.

Re: Chesapeake at Ironton

Chesapeake got out coached in this one. Coach Lafon may be one of the best coaches in the area that gets little credit.

The Panthers will bounce back.
