Wellston has 6 wins over teams that have a combined 13-29 record. Enjoy your success. You have earned it. I’d hold off on the TVC championship predictions though because Athens hasn’t lost to Wellston in a long, long time and VC has a 6 game streak going. One game at a time rockets. I will be rooting you though, this Friday night. Beat those bulldogs!
That’s the almighty question there.. we have all been wondering. When he does he likes to go wildcat and send him right up the middle with no lead blocks with 8 in the box crashing down on him
I know he left lost 7 points when it was 1st and goal, NY up 1 and they didn’t give Wilburn the ball
I agree. We would have still lost to Trimble and Fort but we didn’t even use him in the passing game last night hardly at all. Threw him a pass on first drive and he takes it 68 yards for a TD. Pass it to him once more and he drops it and then that was it. At Meigs he touched the ball 6 times.. just don’t really get it. Drove down the field multiple times, go wildcat and start running these crazy reverses then we are stuck in 3rd and long and throw up a prayer. Who knowsdilligaf wrote: ↑Sat Oct 12, 2019 9:22 pm
Should be a really good game here, Piketon probably closest team on Wellstons schedule that offers up the passing game they'll see against Athens. If Wellston can pound the rock and keep Athens off the field that will go a long ways. Not sure how quick Wellston is in the secondary but if they can maintain the Athens WRs and put pressure on the QB I'll take Wellston by 7 points.
Yep, the "Best Passer" in the league comment was mine and I'll stick to that and in no way ,shape or form am I an Athens fan. They've lost 4 games to non TVC teams who are 21-6 combined but have scored 93 points in those losses. Wellston's wins have come against teams that are 13-29 combined.JaCksOnCoUnTy9000 wrote: ↑Sat Oct 12, 2019 5:37 pmAhh you're out of your doggone mind. See what I did there? Hope Athens "Best Passer" is prepared for the dominate secondary of Wellston led by #11 Rylan Molihan followed by the best receiver in not only the TVC but southeast ohio, Hunter Smith. You Athens folk better bring an extra pair of britches after you soil yourself watching this group of young men. Poondogs gonna whine all the way back home next Friday
"ONCE A MARINE, ALWAYS A MARINE"
Wellstons secondary is very quick. And IMO could be the best secondary Athens faces all season. And Wellston with that dominate front seven will definitely bring the pressure on Athens QB. But with all that being said Athens to me regardless of record is still the second best team on Wellstons schedule behind only Jackson. Wellston will have to bring their A game for sure. And being at home will help but not because of the field conditions or the officials like some will claim.
Moore very likely best player/athlete we will face this year, and def best QB. Probably ought to sprinkler the field Wednesday, Thursday and all day Friday and don’t mow leave grass 8 inches high.
Yep and given that Athens is DIII it could also determine whether Wellston has any shot at hosting a playoff game or not. With seeds 2-5 having at least 1 tough opponent left and could take a loss this is a huge game for many different reasons for the Rockets. Good Luck
