Chesapeake 35 Fairland 18

Post by bbn77 »

BACKGROUND: This will be the 68th edition of Fairland vs. Chesapeake. The Panthers lead the all-time series 36-30-1, including three of the last four. Last year's meeting in Proctorville ended in a 35-6 Panther victory. It will also be Senior Night for the Peake, as nine seniors will be honored.

WHAT'S AT STAKE FOR FAIRLAND: Not much is at stake. The Dragons have nothing to play for so I expect them to lay it all out there and play hard to be a potential spoiler.

WHAT'S AT STAKE FOR PEAKE: A second place finish in the OVC for the third consecutive year and a clinch of a home playoff game for the first time since 2003, also looking to make playoffs for second straight year. Lastly, a 9-1 regular season finish would be Chesapeake's best since I believe 1999.

PREDICTION: Coach Andy Clark hates running the score up against anyone and will be very conservative to pull the plug as quickly as possible to get players some rest heading into Week 11. Chesapeake 41, Fairland 8.

Which one? Cunningham and Fisher have both played well. Peake's speed will slow Cunningham down but for Fairland to have a chance the game plan goes through Fisher

I think this will be an awesome game. I really do. these 2 flat don't like each other, and all of a sudden the dragons have 3 wins. I think peake wins , but this is an ole rivalry as well. anything can happen.

This is a great week 10 rivalry game. The Panthers trying to keep momentum going into the playoffs while the Dragons looking for some respect. Fairland hasn't beaten anyone with a win this season except for the Grove. That was a definite trap game for the Hornets with Ironton the week before and Rock Hill this week. Grover's lost concentration. Fairland played well though. I look for a close game in the first half with the peak taking control in the second half. 35-14 Panthers

Where are the Dragon fans? Yes the team is 3-6 but it's a rivalry game and Chesapeake has small visitor bleachers and they aren't even packed.

Chesapeake 35 Fairland 18. Congrats to Fairland on a fine performance. But now the Panthers have a home playoff game to look forward to and a 9-1 finish

I thought Fairland had a good crowd. The Fairland students even showed up. Can't say that about many of the schools Chesapeake played.

There were still a couple empty spots. Not the Fairland crowds I'm used to seeing for this game
