One may think this game has no meaning but this game is huge for these Programs . Whoever wins will improve on last years season
For Wellston it would mean a 5-5 season and progress from last year

For vinton it would mean a 4-6 record up from
3-7 last year .

VC has had the upper hand lately but I'm picking Wellston at home.

Wellston 30
Vinton county 18

Wellston should win. Vinton County will always be a 3-7 team.

Vc has only finished 3-7 once in the last 32 years. It just happened to be last year.

And one of those wins is typically against Wellston.

Wellston's coach has a chance to beat "the best coach in Southern Ohio" this week after beating the former "best coach in Southern Ohio" last week who is now dubbed "the second best coach in Southern Ohio."

I was being nice. Truly they will always be a 2-8 or 1-9 team.

Wellston took a big step last week. Continued to compete after being down a couple scores. That was huge, something we may not have done in the past as well as we did last Friday.

We play inspired and tough it out like that again, then I think we will be fine against VC.

My guess is around 1400-1500 rushing and maybe close to 2000 all purpose.

Not sure about career, but I would think last year are similar numbers.

He has to be top 5 career yardage wise.

Wellston has had some great backs over the years .

Was curious about your guess so I pulled some unofficial numbers from the local papers and I have all but the Jackson and Portsmouth West games. So with 7 of the possible 9 games reported these are the stats:

Cox: 1,078
Jayjohn: 1,156

My guess is with the 3 other games your guess would be very close to what he actually has. Both backs have multiple games with 200+ yards. Jayjohn with 3 and Cox with 2 with one of those being a 300+ yard game. For a season that has seemed like a train wreck at times has actually unofficially produced two 1,000 yard rushers in one season, that is pretty good. Hoping for a win Friday night to improve to 5-5 for the first time since 2011 and to increase by a win on last years record, but I do not expect the vikings to lay down. Should be a great game. I say

Wellston 42
VC: 41

With #70 Kicking the PAT with no time on the clock to seal the win on senior night.

**** Edit found Nelsonville Stats, Numbers have been changed to reflect that.

Well pretty close, here come senior night so let's hope everyone of the seniors has a great game.

#70 with a PAT with no time left sounds like a plan to me lol.
