East 32 Notre Dame 26

Post by js7_22 »

Should be an epic matchup between the two teams. East has the perfect record on the line, almost guaranteed a spot in the playoffs (currently #3 in Region 27) and looking for home field advantage...

Notre Dame coming off a big shutout win @ Fayetteville, could get in with a loss possibly (currently #7 in Region 27), and def in with a win, possibly home field with a win.

Not to mention the rivalry between the two schools the last couple of years in other sports, including football.

SOC title is on the line... East wins it outright with a win, Notre Dame gets a piece of it with a win.

These two teams could see each other again in the playoffs if the stars align.

East's balance attack vs Notre Dame's run.

Comparing the only true game either team has played in the SOC where the games were close. Throw out records (Notre Dame had Oak Hill beat, but let it slip in the last seconds.) East had a back and forth game with Oak Hill, East came out on top at the end with a last minute touchdown.

I couldn't think of a better night (supposed to be 70 degrees and no rain) at Historic Spartan Stadium to decide a lot, one of Ohio's most historic stadiums in football history.

I'll take Notre Dame in a nail-biter 26-21.

East by 2 touchdowns. These boys have not played to there potential thus far. With Scott being back brings back a lot of opportunities for them. They are 9-0 and looking for the tenth. I won't be surprised to see them play there best game and dismantle Notre Dame. Notre Dame has a good team this year but a roster filled with 18 boys won't cut it going against one of the best teams if not the best in the region. Kayser and Johnson will do what they do and yes they might score as well but East also has Brown and Scott running for them as well. If East stops Kayser they win easily which I predict they will.

I think it's a tough close game. Within 10 points.

This is a tough game to call, Notre Dame handling Fayetteville the way they did really surprised me. I believe Notre Dame has really improved by leaps and bounds since beginning of the season. Yeah the Scott boy is back which is a morale boost but with him being out for so long hard for me to really think he's going to make a huge difference at this point. Having 18 boys I don't believe has anything to do with it, maybe if we were talking about week 1 and conditioning might be an issue. Notre Dame is a very sound team and East will need to play they're best ball. I think East will actually be able to use the pass more in this game to come out on top. Lowe has the arm to stretch the defense of ND who typically struggles with the pass and I'll take East by 1-2 scores. Should be heck of a game playoffs on the line for ND, home playoff spot on the line for East and the outright SOCI crown. Good Luck to both teams

Could go either way, and hopefully this will be an instant classic.

Good luck to both teams, great years for each of them.

Coach Ashley will have his kids ready to play and they pull of the upset. Their kicker puts one through the uprights late, 24-21, Titans.

And that's the bottom line, b/c Stone Cold said so....

Not only for a piece of SOC I championship, but winner of this game likely gets a home playoff game while loser likely goes on the road (East already clinched playoffs, ND has 88% chance of being in even with a loss). Probably best matchup of running backs in area this year (Brown v. Kayser/Johnson). East's passing game could cause ND problems, but will East be able to stay focused and avoid penalties? Will be a good one either way.*

That's the one area where East has the decided advantage, passing. If Notre Dame gives Rowe time to get his feet set, he could be the difference. I am interested to see how ND defense plays on Bruton.

Lowe is best passer in league, but Oak Hill throws the ball well and ND picked him off 3 times I think. Burton will be a tough match-up. It will come down to big plays. Who can avoid giving them up? I'm excited for this one.

That's comical ^^ Oak Hill didn't pass at all against East and even Fayetteville was passing the ball on them and they are really slow. Notre Dame has two fast players, there line is average and a qaurterback that won't be able to pass against boys that can move. The question is will Notre Dame be able to match all the talent East has?
